Essentially this will be a conglomeration of fairy tale characters setting out on an adventure.
Summary
Once upon a time there was a King whose wife bore him six sons before she passed away. He mourned her death for some time before finding a new wife who bore him a daughter. The new Queen was jealous of the King's six sons on her daughter's behalf and one day, while the King was away, she turned her stepsons into ravens so her daughter would be next in line for the throne. By day the Princes were ravens, completely under the control of the Queen; under the light of the moon, however, they were transformed back to their human forms. Therefore at night, she kept her husband's six sons locked in a dungeon deep within the castle.
When her husband returned from his long trip and asked where his sons had gone, she told him they had been killed in a surprise attack by men from the neighboring kingdom. Greatly bereaved and enraged, the King declared war on the other kingdom in order to bring justice for his sons' lives. He died in battle a short time later and the Queen was left to rule in his stead.
Because the Princess was very young when her brothers were changed by the Queen, she remembered nothing of the six Princes and was raised as an only (and very sheltered) child. One night, however, while roaming about the castle, she discovered her mother's dark secret and vowed to save the raven-princes from their curse.
Characters
Characters should be based on either a character from a fairy tale or legend (preferred) OR be a creature from folklore (preferably something from European folklore just so they don't seem out of place-- it would be weird to have a Kappa standing alongside Hansel and Gretel).
There are sort of three different parts to this. Two are the opposing sides of the war, one with the Queen who takes her citizens as soldiers whether they like it or not and the other kingdom who know the Queen is evil (they don't know about the princes being ravens, though) and are not only trying to defend their nation but also overthrow her. Then the third part is the princess's adventure to save her brothers which I think will inevitably lead back to the other two sides.
All character roles are currently open. We'll probably have most of the brothers be NPC's since six is A LOT but one or two of those spots are open. Below I've listed the spots we need to be filled but keep in mind that these are also not the only spots available and
Ellaris is the evil queen's country
Evil Queen
Princess -- claimed by Munster
Prince 1 -- claimed by Marley
Prince 2
Agrandar is the rival kingdom
King
Queen?
Prince -- claimed by Zabby
Princess -- claimed by Atlantis
Character Skeleton
Name:
Fairy tale basis:
Age:
Kingdom:
Weapons/Skills, if any:
Bio:
I'll have more info soon, including a map and my own bio.
EDIT: it would make good sense for the Prince of Agrandar to be a love interest for the Princess of Ellaris.
EDIT2: Added Kingdom to the skeleton. Characters may be from a separate kingdom if absolutely necessary, but must currently reside in one of the two and (obviously) have some link to the storyline.
