Lyla
Lyla was flipping through her pictures, none of them were really that great, she would have to come back out during lunch. She looked up when she saw a hand outstretched to her. The guy was grinning down at her. She smiled slightly, but couldn't help raising one of her eyebrows, a little confused. Why were guys coming to talk to her all of a sudden.
"Hi. I'm Greg Clayson. I'll be the new Phys-ed instructor. You are?"
At first she couldn't form any words, then she was able to reach out and shake his hand. "I'm Lyla." She knew she say something else, but had no idea what. "I guess I'll be in your class....I'm not really that athletic though...or at all." She stood up from the bench and shrugged. She wasn't really sure why this guy, who was her teacher, had decided to come talk to her. "This may sound rude but, why are you here...I mean...talking to me?"

Greg
"I guess I'll be in your class....I'm not really that athletic though...or at all." She stood up from the bench and shrugged."This may sound rude but, why are you here...I mean...talking to me?"
Greg let out a small chuckle. "Just run around the track and dodge a couple balls and you'll be fine." He said with a grin. "And as to why I'm here, is because I like to know my students. I can already see that there is drama here. If there wasn't then their wouldn't be a camera crew." he shrugged as he looked off down the hallway as a blonde woman barked out orders to some tech guys. "I know that knowing your teacher better can make things a little less stressful." He smiled as he sat down next to the girl. She seemed kinda uncomfortable so he tried to sound more professional. "So, have you any information on my little brother Mick?"
Mick
After eavesdropping on the conversation a little longer Mick started feeling sick. What! Phys-ed coach? What the...? The initial shock wanted to linger. Mick just couldn't believe that his brother was here. He decided that it was best just to walk away until he absolutely needed to talk to his oldest brother. He decided to walk out of the school for some air. Why do we go outside when we need air? I mean we get air in the building, right? So why do we need to go outside? I could have just as easily gone to home room to get air. So why did I come out here? He then saw Cameron slumped over in his car. And people call me emo....
Just as he was ready to head back inside the school, Mick saw Rina at the bike rack. Oh man! Should I go talk to her? Yes! Idiot! He walked over to her and after staring for a second he snapped out of his trance.
"H-hey Sabrina. I mean... Rina." He swallowed hard. "How are you?"

Kira
Kira couldn't do it. She stared at the entrance too school with dread and moaned. How could she stand another day keeping up her act, and all that crap? If she had to even acknowledge Lorcan's existence one more time, she would scream. Not to mention her list of friends was back down to one, because she had surely alienated Masaki for good this time. But she had to be there, if only for Taryn. That was the only thing that allowed her to lift her shoes a centimeter off of the ground and drag them through the halls to her locker.
At least the prom theme would be announced today, so she could start getting a move on those posters. That at least would give her mind a distraction. Except..."Ahhhh..." she moaned. Lorcan and Masaki would be at the committee meeting. And she still didn't know what was the deal with Cameron and Taryn, because she hadn't been able to talk to Taryn yet. And she probably wouldn't not with Lorcan breathing down their necks.
"Well this day looks promising."
-------
Cameron
Cameron still couldn't believe he had skipped class yesterday. He would have to make sure he hadn't scared Taryn off with it all...His stomach ached, but not from hunger--the reporters would probably be broadcasting the prom committee interviews today, along with a clip about Miranda and Esperanza. His stomach sank further. For how long could he keep avoiding Tanner?
------
Caren
"Today is the day!" she sang happily, typing rapidly. The sound of her voice combined with the clicking of the keys rang around the journalism room. She would have this morning's addition ready in no time, to announce the prom theme! "Oh, this one is gonna be good. I need to rope the others into taking pictures at the dance--and who cares if they all have dates they would rather be paying attention too? They should know that this newspaper is their first love." Caren huffed with pride for her baby.
-----
Devon
There was something about working out in the morning that focused his mind. Devon hit the button on his stop watch; He had finished his run around the track in record time. Now he needed to get a move on getting a date...
As he ran back past the field, he replayed a sweet pass Beau had thrown yesterday in practice.

LylaLyla smiled slightly at the coaches comment on running around the track and dodging a ball. Little did he know, she could hardly do either. She was too clumsy to run, and dodging, or throwing a ball required hand eye coordination which she had none of. She nodded when he asked about the schools drama, "Way too much...if you ask me..." It was true, the school seemed to have more than anyone could ever want. She shrugged, "I guess every high school is full of drama." She watched the students moving quickly between groups of friends, life for a normal teenager must be really busy. When the Coach Clayson asked about Nick Lyla looked over at him, and saw the resemblance, how had she not seen it before? "Ummm...well...he's in journalism with me...but other than that....I'm not sure...he's a few years younger than me..." BEEP! Attention Students please listen for your name, if you are called please report to the auditorium as quickly as possible.
(Ok...I was going to list the names, but can't find character at the moment, and I'm being really lazy soo...*Insert character names here_________________) Lyla looked toward the school when her name was called, she turned toward Coach Clayson, "I guess I'll see you in PE. You should find Mick, I bet he wants to see you." She stood from the table and grabbed her book bag, then headed toward the school. She got to the auditorium before anyone else, and she looked as the TV crew set up. She sat down in a nearby chair and tried to make herself invisible. They couldn't possibly expect her to give an interview in front of a camera. She looked around the auditorium nervously and spotted a flier stuck to the door. She stood up a little curious by the bold letter across the top reading "ATTENTION ALL MUSICIANS!" [glow=red,2,300]ATTENTION ALL MUSICIANS[/glow]!
Have you ever wanted to get your name out there in the world of music?
Well sign up for Bentley High's very own [glow=blue,2,300]Battle of the Bands![/glow]
The winning band will perform at Prom, which is being filmed for a TV show!
If you want to have your name in lights, begin here with the Battle of the Bands, sign up in the Auditorium TODAY! She smiled slightly as she read over the poster. That would probably be really fun, if she had a band, or if anyone even wanted her in their band. She shook her head, and headed back over to her seat in the corner, and tried to make herself turn invisible, as she waited for the other students names who had been called to show up. RinaRina finished locking up her bike and turned around in time to see Mick coming toward her. She smiled brightly as he addressed her. "Hey, Mick! I'm doing great! What about you?" BEEP! Attention Students please listen for your name, if you are called please report to the auditorium as quickly as possible.
Rina looked over at Mick slightly confused, "I guess, we both have something to do. Do you want to walk to the auditorium together, it would be a lot better than awkwardly walking alone." OT: Ok...Sorry this took me so long, and they're not even that long...I will try and post the interviews for my charries once everyone makes it to the auditorium....

David & Beau
Beau dribbled the ball deftly pass his cousin, pausing only to smirk at David briefly as the ball left his hand and fell through the wire rim. "Your off your game today." He noted lightly, but once again David wasn't listening. Instead, David's eyes were fixed on a girl playing dogeball across the gym. "You may have been able to get a ball past if you spent less time watching Lyla and more watching me."
At this David laughed, "She's a lot easier on the eyes than you are." He reached down and took a long drink from his water bottle. "I mean, I hate to burst your bubble but your just not my type."
"And she is?"
David let his eyes drift again, and let out his breath creating a noise somewhere between a pant, a laugh and a sigh. "Man, I don't even know." It had taken him by surprise that Lyla would agree to cut class with him, and what had started out as some sort of frivolous game had turned slightly deeper as the afternoon had progressed. He' taken things slow, a tour through a local farmers market ripe with photo opportunities, a stop at a small geleato stand, a walk on the beach. If he'd been expecting a kiss, or something more, at his initial inquiry he had forgotten it by the time Beau showed up to give them a ride home. He was more causght up in her laugh, the sweet, nervous way she fiddled with her hair, the way her forehead wrinkled as she concentrated on shooting the perfect photo. "She's just.... different.... than the other girls around here."
Beau rolled his eyes, "And how many times have you said that?"
"A different different."
BEEP! Attention Students please listen for your name, if you are called please report to the auditorium as quickly as possible. A long list of names followed, but David onley caught a few. His name had been called, along with Beau, Sebi, Brittany, Fatine and Lyla.
Beau's face had paled slightely, "What do you think thats about?"
"Don't know." David said, reaching for his bag and pulling out a clean t-shirt. "But we should probably get going."
"Yea... I'm just gonna stop by the locker room first." David had, at this point, {to the pleasure of several sophomore girls} removed his shirt but Beau was more modest. "I'll meet you there."
*****
Brittany & Fatine
BEEP! Attention Students please listen for your name, if you are called please report to the auditorium as quickly as possible.
The two girls looked at eachother, and shrugged, excusing themselves from Mrs. Robertson's History class and exiting into the hallway. "What's this about?" Fatine asked Brittany.
"I'm not sure, but I think its something to do with the TV crews." Her smile, and the way she was impeccably dressed that day gave her away.
"You think?"
Brittany sighed, "Ok, fine, I got Daddy to talk to them." They turned a corner a joined a small crowd of other students who had been called form their classrooms, "They were interviewing all the geeks and smart kids anyway, the new roster will be much better for the show."
OT: Annnnndddd I'll get to Sebi and all the interviews later this morning. I just have something I need to go do before noon. XD

Lyla
Lyla watched as the room began to fill. She hadn't realized how many names had been called. She must have missed it, she hadn't been as focused that morning as she normally was.
"Lyla Hendricks." A big man came around the corner with a clip board. "It's your turn dear, please just come around this corner. Miss Washington is waiting for you."
Lyla took a deep breath in, and stood from the seat. She nervously brushed her hair behind her ear, and walked where the man had pointed. She wasn't sure what it was about the woman sitting in the chair in front of the camera, that made Lyla suddenly on edge. The woman had a gleam in her eyes, that looked like she was willing to do anything to get her scoop.
Lyla swallowed hard and sat in the chair across from the woman, and folded her hands lightly in her lap.
Welcome Lyla, how has your senior year been going? The smile that crossed Sarah Washington's lips was not a welcoming smile, it was more calculatingly cold.
Lyla couldn't even manage a smile as she looked between the woman and the camera lens. She felt like she might throw up. Finally, she manged to look toward Miss Washington, "I...I guess it's going well. Nothing really special ever happens....just any old school day....I guess." She swallowed hard.
The smile never left Sarah Washington's face as Lyla answered and when the camera focused back on her it only deepened. "Oh, come on darling! It's your senior year of High School, you're one of the top dogs. I've heard you're on the newspaper. That makes me and you very similar."
Lyla was caught slightly off guard at Miss Washington's last comment. She sure hoped she wasn't anything like this woman. "Yeah, I'm part of the paper, but I only take the pictures, and do a few interviews. None of the front page interviews. Just, you know...the small ones, but other than that, senior year has been just the same as all of the other years.
Sarah Washington started to feel a little annoyed, this girl was giving her nothing, and according to the principle all of the names given for interviews had to make the show. She looked through the notes on the girl sitting in front of her. She didn't do anything other than Newspaper. "So dear, is there any special someone in your life right now? Do you have your eyes on any particular guy?"
Lyla looked up from where her eyes had been focused on her hands. There was no way Miss Washington could know about her skipping class, with David. That could not get on national TV, her father would see this. Lyla told herself that she was just panicking, that no one would ever know. She was able to manage a small smile, "Not at the moment, no. I mean, I've never been into the whole Prom thing anyway. Pretty much the only reason I'm going is to take pictures for the paper, I mean, why start a relationship now? College is just around the corner, right?" She hoped that her answer was believeable, it just had to be.
Sarah caught the hesitation, if only for a second in the girls answer. She would find whatever she was trying to keep hidden, and let everyone know. She had already let a huge secret come out, what was one small one about a boy. "Well thank you dear, I'm sure we'll be talking again really soon. I hope next time you wont be as nervous."
Lyla nodded and stood from her chair. "Thank you Miss Washington. It was a pleasure meeting you." She walked out of the view of the camera and watched as the camera's clicked off and Sarah Washington stood from her chair. Lyla saw the woman glance her way, so Lyla slipped around the corner back out to the auditorium. Once out she leaned against the wall. Did she really feel that bad about leaving yesterday? It had been so much fun, more than she had, had in a long time, but every time she thought of it, all she could see was the disappointed look her father would give her. It didn't matter, she would probably never see, or talk to David, other than at any of the sporting events. She walked around the corner of the auditorium, and felt her knees go weak. She had to give everything to not trip, there waiting in the group for their interviews, she saw the brown hair and mischievous smile, of David. She didn't know what to do, she walked toward the group where they had been told to wait once they were done, and tried to slip by unnoticed, like she had for so many years, yet it seemed so much harder.
OT: I will post Rina's interview once TOWR posts....ummm...I would prefer if you did the separate colors, but it isn't required.

Mick
"Hey, Mick! I'm doing great! What about you?"
Mick started to say that he was fine, which was a lie. With Greg back, life was about to get much more complicated. He tried to appear as if all was good but probably looked more like he was about to sneeze. “I’m fine, I guess I –“ Then the loudspeaker cut in before anything could be said.
BEEP! Attention Students please listen for your name, if you are called please report to the auditorium as quickly as possible.
"I guess, we both have something to do. Do you want to walk to the auditorium together; it would be a lot better than awkwardly walking alone."
She’s asking me to walk with her? Am I being punk’d? Slightly shocked that the girl of his dreams wanted to walk to the auditorium with him, Mick let out a scramble of words that sounded like a mix a ‘yes’ and ‘huh’. When he smiled and turned to walk with Sabrina, he realized that he was just called to the auditorium with a bunch of other high-schoolers. Wait, this is for that TV show, isn’t it? I can’t be on TV! That’s just--. It’s just ridiculous! Trying to keep from panicking in front of Rina, he just stayed quiet. She said that walking together would be better than walking awkwardly alone. Well she was wrong. Walking awkwardly together without talking was… too awkward. When they got to the gym, Lyla had just exited the interview room. She looked like she was about to puke. As soon as he walked completely in the room a blonde, heavily botoxed woman called his name. Mick looked at Rina with a sad puppy-dog look and walked into the interview room. The blonde woman motioned down at a chair and he sat. She took a seat across from him cleared her throat.
“Hello Mick. I’m Sarah Washington. We’re going to be interviewing you for a TV show!” She squeaked. She looked at Mick like he was a kindergartener. “Just look at me and not the camera, answer the questions the best you can, and don’t say anything unnecessary. Understand?” She said with the world’s most fake smile.
“Yes ma’am.” Mick said as he glanced out the slowly closing door. There was Rina just being her pretty self when a dark spot came across the bottom of her neck. Perplexed, Mick started having thought’s about what could cause a bruise like that when Sarah got him back on track.
“Alright Mick, just look at me and we’ll start rolling. Mick looked at the woman and she instantly started the interview. “So Mick, we understand that you’ll be filming the prom for the school website. How’d you get stuck doing that?” Not the best opening question but Sarah wanted to get Mick softened up before the hard questions were asked.
“The school was going to pay me 15 dollars for every hour of video I got. I needed the money so I volunteered for the job.” Mick answered the question as fast as he could. He wanted this interrogation to end so he could go back to worrying about Greg.
“You needed the money? What for?” She asked. She knew that kids around this age wanted money for games and what not, but this kid didn’t seem like the type for that kind of thing.
Mick gulped. Dang it! I can’t tell the truth. That would ruin me! What am I going to say?! “I’m throwing my brother a surprise party. He came home the other day from college.” Mick said with panic in his voice. “Well I guess it’s not much of a surprise now.” He said as he tried to calm himself down.
“Oh? You mean Greg Clayson? The new Physical Ed teacher? My my, isn’t he the hunky one.” On the screen next to Mick a picture of Greg appeared. She glanced over at Mick and watched him shutter slightly. “Do you know the real reason he is here today? Our people did some research. Apparently he has been talking to a Sergeant Abernathy. Your brother is keeping secrets Mick. I’d get to the bottom of them if I were you.” She said with a sly tone. “Back on the topic of prom, do you have a certain someone in mind you want to take?”
Mick squirmed when she talked about Greg. She didn’t know anything about the Clayson family or anything about the members of that family. He couldn’t help but wonder what she had on Greg though. When she cleared her throat, he knew that he should hurry up and answer her next question. “Well… No. I’m a horrible dancer and I wouldn’t want to embarrass her.” It wasn’t until he realized what he said that he mentally kicked himself. Great now they know that you like Rina! Good job Mick….
Mrs. Washington grinned and said that was all she needed and allowed him to exit. Mick wanted so bad to just get eaten by the floor. Why? Why Me? He walked up to Rina. “When they call you, it doesn’t matter how hard it is. Lie. Lie like your life depends on it.” He then remembered the bruise he saw on her neck. She had it covered up now but he still wanted to ask. More than anything. “So… I couldn’t help but notice that bruise on your chest, NOT THAT I WAS STARING AT YOUR CHEST! I’m not a pervert! I promise! But seriously, what happened? You okay?
(OT: Shoot the colors didn't change. I tried to make it obvious who was talking though.)

Rina waved to Mick as the door slowly closed behind him. He had looked so nervous, she hoped that he would be ok. Finally, the doors opened again, and Mick came barreling out, looking worse than he had before.
“When they call you, it doesn’t matter how hard it is. Lie. Lie like your life depends on it.”
Rina was caught off guard by his explosion. She smiled lightly, and rested a hand reasuringly on his should, hoping to calm him down. "I'm sure whatever you said wasn't that terrible. I'll be just f..."
“So… I couldn’t help but notice that bruise on your chest, NOT THAT I WAS STARING AT YOUR CHEST! I’m not a pervert! I promise! But seriously, what happened? You okay?
Rina went ridged and slowly pulled her hand away. She was so shocked that the last few ramblings from Mick, completely went over her head. She managed a smile, "Oh, that? It's nothing...I...I just ran into something riding my bike the other day...and crashed into the handle bars." She knew she was bad at lying, but this was going to have to do. She couldn't even imagine, what Mick would do if he found out. She would be sent far away and put in some foster home.
The man with the clip board emerged again and called her name. She was thankful for a chance to escape the awkwardness that had fallen on her and Mick's conversation. She waved to him, "Wish me luck?" Then turned and quickly followed the man into the room with all of the camera's.
Sarah watched as the small blonde girl entered the room, with an ever present smile on her face. "Welcome dear, it's so nice to meet you!" This was the girl, who's mother was on the news for ODing on sleeping pills. Sarah would have to make sure and save that for a later date.
Rina smiled at the woman, "Oh, it's nice to meet you too! This whole TV thing, is really exciting!"
Sarah smiled, "So, you're a sophomore right? How do you feel about Prom, since you can't go unless you are asked by someone older?
Rina shrugged, "The whole Prom scene is exciting to me! I wish I could go this year. That's why I was surprised when I was called down to be interviewed."
Sarah nodded, "Oh, yeah your principle wanted me to get some younger students point of view too. You never know though, someone might still ask you. You are a very pretty girl!"
Rina blushed, "Well thank you ma'am, but I doubt an older guy would ask me to Prom. They're mostly fixated on the girls in their grades."
Sarah nodded, "Well, we'll just see about that now won't we, for now that's all the questions I have for you. I just wanted to let people know who you are. We'll be talking real soon."
Rina smiled, "Thank you Miss Washington." She stood from the chair and headed toward the door. What was she going to tell Mick if he questioned the bruise further. Maybe he wasn't even waiting anymore...maybe, just maybe, he left back to class, and she could deal with that situation later.

Brittany/David/Beau/Fatine/Sebi
David paused at the top of the auditorium, scanning the other students while his eyes adjusted to the light. There were maybe thirty in all, clustered in groups near the stage. Some chattered enthusiastically, but many just looked bored. David was sure the TV crews wouldn't use all the interviews, no, Sarah Washington and her camera toting cronies were sweeping the field for drama, conflict, and ultimately ratings. The drama with Kira and Lorcan was only the tip of the iceberg, and they would need much more if they were to produce a decent special. David found himself wondering how far they would go.
"Hey! Mad-Dog McKinley!"
David rolled his eyes, but turned and smiled anyway. "Don't call me that Se--What the heck are you wearing?" Unusual choice's of dress weren't exactly uncommon for Sebi, but his current get-up was already attracting snickers and stares. To David, it looked as though Sebi had started with a run of the mill Pirate Costume, then just decided to go crazy with neon, glitter, and costume makeup. At his waist, two holster's housed nerf-guns that had been spray painted and dotted with glow-in-the-dark stars, on his shoulder a small toy parrot retrofitted with tin-foil to make it seem half machine. "Please tell me your not gonna wear that to prom."
Sebi scoffed, "Don't worry, by that point I'll fit right in." He pulled a black cloth from his shirt pocket and waved it proudly, on it a green 1970's-esque alien head over neon pink crossbones. "It's the technology clubs bid for Prom Theme: Pirates of the Final Frontier." He swung his arm forward, indicating some imaginary horizon. "Think about it, Pirates, Mermaids, Cyborgs, Aliens, Glowsticks?!?!?! Were a shoe in."
"Ugh! Davy really, keep your little freak on a leash!" Brittany entered the conversation with a stare like daggers, Fatine and the small herd of other cheerleaders who surrounded her following suit. The cheerleader let her eyes linger on David for a moment longer before turning her eyes to Sebi, "If you think my prom theme is going to be some comic-con fantasy land your sorely mistaken."
"Actually, the original idea was to a tribute to legend of Zelda, but with the limited range of costume choices and copyrite issues concerning the TV crews.."
"Nobody cares kid."
"Come on Brit, leave him alone."
At the sound of Beau's voice, Brittany grew silent and looked away. Fatine, however, snickered. "Look at this! Someone decided to put their big-boy-boxers on this morning!" She turned to Beau, "Looks like the cowardly-quarterback has a soft spot for Dorthey and her little flying monkey."
"Ok, that comparison doesn't even make sense. The wicked witch of the west had the flying monkeys, Dorthey had --
"Don't you have a Coffin you should be sleeping in Fatine?" David hissed. He'd had his brief fling with Fatine at the begining of the year, but now the girl just annoyed him. More so than Brittany and her army of cheerleader barbies.
Fatine laughed, "You'd like that wouldn't you cowboy?" David frowned at how she'd turned the comment around, her eyes cool and sadistically, "To bad the whole school knows how you'd like to... what is it?... put a stake in me."
"You just keep thinking that."
"Ugh, Tina lets just go." Even Brittany looked somewhat perturbed at Fatine's comments. She turned to Beau, eyes narrowing, "Are you coming Beau?"
"Uhh... I think I'll just..."
"Brittany Daniels!"
Brittany glared at Beau, then turned to walk briskly towards Sarah Washington. David turned back to Fatine, "Get out of my face."
Brittany
"So Brittany! I hear your the head cheerleader at Bentley and in charge of the Prom Committee! Can you tell our viewers any secrets about this years Bentley High School Prom?" The woman smiled, revealing artificially white teeth and an inhumanly wrinkle-less smile.
"Well, I don't want to give away too much, but its going to be the biggest and most exciting Prom at Bentley to date."
"Oh well I know you can't give too much away!" The woman laughed, and looked at her clipboard. "Speaking of dates, though, my sources tell me that you've been dating James Summers, Bentley's star quaterback for nearly three years now! Will you two be going to Prom together?"
"You mean Beau?" Brittany continued before Sara had a chance to respond, "I'd hardly call him the 'star-quaterback'."
"But are you two going to Prom together?" The woman leaned in, obviously excited. "Rumor has it that he stood you up at last years prom."
Brittany felt blood rushing to her cheeks, "He was sick."
"Tragic." Sara said simply, then her voice grew more eager. "I hope he doesn't fall ill this year, it could be a seasonal thing you know...."
"Its not." Brittany said, cutting Sarah Washington off shortly. She was surprised at the coolness of her own town. "What I mean is he won't." She breathed deeply, "I'm going to be Prom Queen and Beau is going to be my King." Her eyes flashed as Fatine's words form yesterday suddenly shot through her head. You can do better. "And if he can't be there there are at least a hundred guys at this school who would be more than willing to take his place."
"My my! Arn't we ambitous!"
Brittany shook her head, "Make no mistake, I care about Beau, but this is my senior year. I rule this school. Nothing is going to get in the way of me being Prom Queen."
"I see, well, thank you so much for your time Brittany!"
"No Ms. Washington, Thank you."
David
"David McKinley!" The clip board wielding teacher trilled. David waved in recognition, nodded to his friends and moved to the interviewers room. Sarah Washington was adjusting her microphone when he entered, and jumped slightly when he entered. "Hello David, please, have a seat." She gathered her notes, "So, David, my sources tell me that your new to Bentley, what brought you to Sacremento?"
"Needed a change of scenery." He said simply. "I'd never been to California before this year."
Sarah pursed her lips, and David almost laughed at her frustration. The clip board in her hand must contain his file, details of his past. How she'd obtained the information, he could only guess, but David was sure he'd been chosen for it. Viewers loved lost souls. Especially ones with pretty faces. "Oh really? And where all have you lived?"
"I was born in Austin, but I've also lived in Dallas, Nashville, Jackson..." He had to think for a while coming up with all the cities his mother had dragged him through looking for work. "Most recently I'm from Sandpoint, Idaho."
More frustration, "It must be hard moving around so much..." She said sympathetically.
David shrugged, "Not really. There's always new people to meet, places to see, my mother used to say I have a gypsy soul. Couldn't sit still if I tried."
"And tell me about your mother?"
Now David's smile turned, this was one place he didn't want to go. Not with Sarah Washington, and not with anyone else. He feigned a laugh, smiled at the camera. "I thought your show was bout Bentley's Prom Sarah!" He said lightly, "Shouldn't you be asking me about who I'm going with? Why I'm going? That sort of thing?"
Sarah recoiled slightely at the use of her first name, how he had taken over the conversation. "Well, do you have someone in mind?" She chuckled, her smile only barely hiding her annoyance.
Instantly his mind jumped to Lyla, and he found himself unwittingly smiling. "Possibly." She would be embarrassed to hear him mention her though, so he kept his description vague. "I'm not sure how interested she is though. She's quiet, bookish, not the type who usually go for guys like me." He looked shyly towards the camera, as if to catch the eye of every girl watching. "She's beautiful though."
Now Sarah was smiling, "How sweet! But David, please, give us a name!"
He shook his head, "No can do." He smiled at her with a mix of playfulness and threat. "Doesn't seem like the gentlemanly thing to do, you see, out a girl on life TV. Actually.... I find it a bit... cheap."
"... I see." Sarah said coldly, "And I suppose you find Prom 'cheap' as well? Do you consider it trivial? Freeze-dried romance?"
"Oh, most certainly." He smiled, "But! I enjoy music, I enjoy dancing, I enjoy making a fool out of myself with my friends. I look good in a suit and I can most certainly make a pretty girl or two feel special and wanted on a day that's supposed to be 'magic'." He found himself standing, the camera's having to adjust. "If Prom is as amazing as everyone makes it out to be I'll remember it forever and if not.... well I'll forget it at the after party." He smiled deviously as a thought came to mind, "And by after party I mean the one hosted by myself and my cousin Beau Summers." He looked directly into the camera, "I wouldn't miss it if I were you."
"Oh... well... I.."
"You have a fantastic day Ms. Washington." He said sweetly, and with that he left the room.
Beau
Beau fidgeted nervously, eyes trained on Sarah Walter's expertly manicured fingers as she adjusted her microphone.
"So, James. Are you excited about Prom?"
"I go by Beau, actually." He said softly, "And yea... I guess I'm excited about it."
Sarah laughed, and Beau recoiled against the abrasive trill of it. "Why the hesitation, Beau?"
"Oh... I didn't..." Brittany would kill him if he didn't at least act excited. "There's just so much to do! I haven't even rented a tux yet." He smiled, "Everyone goes a bit nuts over it all this time of year."
"Well, it is the most important event of the year! And besides, this is your last chance at Prom yet, I heard you missed it last year?"
How did she know that? "Umm, yea, I was sick... out of school for almost a month..."
"Oh, sounds serious..." Sarah leaned in closer. Obviously eager for the rest of the story.
"Um... not really..." Beau's mind flashed back with images of that time, the voices, a feeling of panic, the counting of steps, fear. He wasn't sure exactly what had set the spiral off, but at his first 'episode' his mother had whisked him off to some fancy mental facility outside of town. Still, no one in school besides Brittany knew about that right? "I was back at Bentley before school started again."
"I see..." She flipped through her notes, "Your seeing Brittany Daniels right?"
"Thats correct."
"So I assume you'll be taking her to Prom?"
"Yea, thats the plan."
"Do you love her?"
"Uh... I..."Well, that escalated quickly. "I mean... Why wouldn't I love her? She's beautiful, smart, funny.... I can't imagine what I'd do without her."
"Mhmm..." She checked her watch, "Well Beau, I'd love to talk with you longer but I have a lot of students to interview today!" She stood up and moved towards the door, motioning for the clipboard woman to send the next victim. "Oh! And don't go too crazy at that after party. I'm not one to tell you not to have a good time, but I've heard the cops around here are notorious for breaking up parties."
"After Party?" Beau choked.
But at that point Sarah Washington had already left the room.

Rina
As she walked out toward where the group of students all waited she saw Mick. She recoiled a little, but tried to seem friendly. If she didn't mention the incident maybe he wouldn't either. He was the only one in the room that she actually knew, other than Sebi, but she hadn't ever really talked to him. She smiled at Mick, "I don't know why you thought that was so bad. She might be a little nosey, but if you just play it cool nothing goes too bad."
Lyla
Lyla stood in the corner where she had started before her name was called, hoping desperately to go unnoticed. She had realized as soon as the group started gathering that she did not belong. The only reason she was probably there was because she was part of the newspaper. At that moment she wished the wall behind her would open up, and swallow her. When David came back from his interview she quickly averted her eyes to the ground, trying to act as if she hadn't seen him. It probably looked ridiculous, there was absolutely no way that she hadn't seen him, he was deffinitely one to make a show of things.
Lyla has sat in the corner for awhile, knowing people were wondering why she just stayed there alone, when she remembered she was here because of photography. This was a perfect time to grab her camera...she stiffened, realizing that it no longer rested around her neck. She had taken it off for her interview, and set it....on the chair. She had to find it. She quickly hurried to her chair and picked up the camera. She would have hated herself if she had lost it. She smiled slightly, remembering the day her father had brought it home. He had been so proud. He bought it off a co-worker for half price, which was still out of their price range. She turned to head back to her corner, when she ran straight into someone. She watched the camera fall out of her hands and crash to the ground. Her eyes went wide, and she quickly went to grab the camera. When she picked it up she heard the pieces of glass from the lens fall to the floor. Her eyes filled with tears, but she fought them back. She realized then that she had run into someone, "Oh, I'm so sorry...I...I didn't mean to." She choked out.
OT: This can be anyone....preferably someone with a temper who will make a scene. If no one volunteers, I'll just steel a clone cheerleader for a moment..

Devon
Devon was happy to extract himself from class when he heard his name over the intercom. This must have something to do with prom. Dev gulped. He hoped it wasn't intervews, because he didn't have a date yet. And people bagering you to get one could be pretty awkard...
Devon entered the autotoriam. There were a dozen or so students hanging around. Promenent among them, Dev spotted Beau and his group. Eyes straight ahead, Dev started walking toward them.
*CRASH!*
"Oh, I'm so sorry...I...I didn't mean to." a voice choked out. Dev had to look down past chest hight to find it's owner. One of the shy girls, a photographer for the school paper, Dev gathered from her camera--er broken camera.
"Oh, um wow, sorry, I didn't see you the--,"
"What. The. HELL." A very commanding voice yelled in his ear. He turned, then actaully backed away a steap. THAT girl, Dev did know. Caren Carney was kind of hard to miss. True, she was a pretty fair reporter, but she could be pretty radical. She wasn't exactly against jocks, but she had written several (rather embarresing) articals about some of his fellow teamates for pay back.
"Hi." Devon simply stated.
Caren
"Hi. Hi? You practicly assult this girl, and all you have to say is HI!? Yah, maybe you are high--high on yourself. I mean seriously, if you would just stop thinking about yourself for one second and look around you maybe you would avoid ruining peoples lives. This camera was Lyla's life. Maybe a camera is just a piece of equitment that your parents can keep replacing for you, but to an aritst like her, it dosn't come cheap," Caren exhaled all in one breath. "That is MY photographers camera that you just broke. You mess with my photographers, you mess with me. No one messes with me.
"Um ok--" Devon said, eyebrows raised and mouth slightly agape. Yah, you'd better be shocked, Caren thought. "Seriously, It was an accident. She's just so short, I didn't see her--".
Devon
Devon winced. That had not come out right. Stupid ADD brain. Devon's eyes flickerd back toward Camera girl, Lyla. "I mean, sorry, I didn't see you."

Suri:
Suri smiled, but tried not to laugh when she saw Sebi in his getup. She didn't want him to get the wrong idea. Sure, his costume was a bit...silly, but it was silly on purpose, and he had the chutzpah to pull it off. The laughter she stifled would have been with him, not at him. Her smile faded when she saw Brittany and her Plastics moving in, clearly on the warpath. By the time she reached the rumble zone, Brittany was snipping about "her" Prom theme (as if she owned the patent and trademark on the concept of "Prom").
"Wait, you know what Comic-Con is? Careful, your posse might start smelling geek in the water and decide to cull you from the horde," Suri said, taking a sassy stance. She wore a double-breasted fire-engine red PVC mini-dress with black accents, black leather platform boots with a row of buckles down each side, and red and black striped stockings. Her outfit was topped off with a red and black Soviet-style military hat and hair punked out with red and black PVC ribbons woven into partial braids that sent their longer ends arcing outward like a shower of sparks. Her hat bore a large gold Soviet star in front emblazoned with an interlaced "1GR" monogram.
David and Beau started to stand up for Sebi, but then Fatine (a much more dangerous opponent in Suri's estimation) joined in, even more cruel and cutting than Brittany.
"Too bad the whole school knows how you'd like to... what is it?... put a stake in me," Fatine said, eyeing David maliciously.
"A stake? No, you kill zombies with a head-shot," she said in a tone that implied she'd be happy to do the honors, including all of the look-alike, sound-alike Barbies with her glance.

Tamara: ("cameo" character, bio here) Tamara walked into the auditorium wishing that the butterflies in her stomach would at least have the decency to fly in formation. This interview could well be the greatest witnessing opportunity she would have in her whole, entire life, and it just had to be sprung on her completely out of the blue, with no time to prepare! Please, Lord, tell me what to say! she thought. Ordinarily she might have bowed her head and folded her hands in prayer, but if the other kids saw her doing it here, they'd laugh. It was one thing to take some mockery for saying grace over lunch or openly reading her Bible or handing out tracts. It was something else entirely to catch flak for being scared to death of her upcoming interview instead of being Spirit-filled and overflowing with peace and joy! While others were called in before her one by one, Tamara tried to rehearse in her mind, thinking of the kind of questions she expected to get and coming up with answers that would lead in one way or another to Jesus and the Gospel. "Tamara Fielding," the assistant producer called out. A quick check with her compact to make sure her waves of golden hair were in place, a gulp, then she started heading over. It'll be just like Daniel in the lions' den. The flames won't touch me. Right? she thought. Though she couldn't come close to turning herself into a fearless, epic figure from Scripture, she hoped she could at least...sorta...look the part. "Welcome Tamara!" Ms. Washington said with glitzy cheer. "Why don't you have a seat and we'll get your mike hooked up. Just relax, you have nothing to worry about!" she said brightly. "Thank you ma'am," Tamara replied, giving the woman and her cameras her best smile. "Al-righty then! Why don't we start out with your name and age and what grade you're in?""My name is Tamara Fielding. I'm 17, and I'm a senior.""Wonderful! Sooo, are you looking forward to the Prom?""Well...I'm not really sure I'll be going. But if I do, I hope that the Lord will help me use it as an opportunity to serve Him." Ms. Washington looked at her quizzically for a moment. "Is there someone special you would like to go with?" "Someone special? Like a boy? Um..." Tamara knew exactly who she wanted to go to the Prom with. Saying his name on national television would be forward at best, and utterly humiliating for both of them at worst. "Of course, 'like a boy!' Unless you'd rather go with a girl! Nothing wrong with diversity!" Tamara stared. "Surely you must have someone in mind! Just look at that lovely ring you're wearing! Looks like you're in a pretty committed relationshiiiiiip!" Washington said with a gleeful conspiratorial tone. "What, this?" Tamara said, lifting her hand to show her Purity Ring. Diamonds sparkled in the bright movie lights, and one of the cameras zoomed in. Relief flooded over her as she moved to safer ground. "This is a Purity Ring. It represents my commitment to save myself for my future husband in obedience to God." She opened her mouth to continue further, but Washington cut her off. "Do you know Camron Reyes? He wears one of those."Safe ground: gone. "Yes, he goes to my father's church." As soon as the words left her mouth, Tamara's heart sank. The predatory gleam in the reporter's eye said she'd caught the way Tamara brightened and flushed, the approval in her voice. "Oooooh, something in common!" Ms. Washington said, grinning like a shark. "You've got some competition though," she said, looking to the producer, who gave her a subtle nod. He knew exactly what footage to cue up. The screen next to her came to life, and in the next moment, Tamara was watching the little drama with Taryn, Lorcan, and Kira. They certainly seemed to think that Camron and the young Irish girl were an "item" in the making. "I have it on good authority that Camron invited Taryn off campus yesterday during lunch to go and visit his sister in the hospital, and she got passes for both of them. How do you feel about the idea of Camron going to the Prom with Taryn?""Uh...I'm sure...Camron will follow where the Spirit leads him.""Oh, I don't know...Taryn's a very pretty girl. Bone structure and lips to die for! Wouldn't you agree? And that accent!""Well, I...guess so. I don't really...look at girls that way...you know," Tamara stammered. "So how would you feel?"Tamara scrambled for an answer. She couldn't just tell the truth, but she couldn't lie either. What should I feel? She put on the best serene smile she could manage under the circumstances. "I'm not Camron's girlfriend or anything, so it's not my place to tell him who he should go out with. If he goes to the Prom with Taryn, I hope that the Lord will bless and sanctify their relationship, and guide them both in the way that He wants it to go." ... Escaping the interview at last, Tamara couldn't help feeling that the lions had enjoyed a fine repast. Now if she could just keep it together until everyone was released from the Auditorium. If it would be bad for them to see desperate prayers before the interview, tears afterward would be even worse.

CameronCameron heard his name, and several others he recognized, over the intercom. Another prom committee meeting. As quietly as he could, Cameron gathered up his things and snuck toward the door but still recieved a glare from the chem teacher, Mrs Brams, for disturbing the class. Lost in thought, Cameron's feet went into auto pilot mode. This was the first time since the interviews that he might come face to face with Tanner. The idea twisted Cameron's stomach into knots with several confusing emotions. Fear, doubt, loss, pain, even anger. What would Tanner do? How would Cameron be expected to act? Cameron's busy mind had brought him to the auditorium quicker than he had expected. Just as he was about to enter, he noticed a short, none-to-pleased-looking, goth girl walking his way. "Kira!" ------ KiraKira moaned as she heard the prom committee, including herself, being called to the auditorium. After the article in the school paper, she didn't think she could look Masaki in the face ever again. And she didn't ever want to lay eyes on Lorcan's smug mug again. A spark of frustration and anger shocked her as she thought about Lorcan's sister: Taryn had meant well, trying to 'keep her safe' but Kira couldn't help thinking that if she had been left to her own devices, she wouldn't be in this mess. As Kira stood up to leave the class erupted in a chorus of taunts. "Goth girl's in trouble!" "Go see your boyfriend, Kira." " I think you really did make those posters." At this comment, Kira shoved the offender's pencil up his nose. "I didn't, Dixon, and it's really none of your business." OK, at least it was half true: she had done the posters, but it was no one elses buisness. Except...her life had now become a TV soap opera, so she supposed it really was everyones business after all. Busy bodies. "Kira Phillips!" the teacher said in outrage, but Kira cut him off before he could continue. "Sorry, sir, I'd go to the principles office, but I'm late for the auditorium." without another backward glance, she flounced out. But her steps soon became heavy and leaded as she dragged them to the auditorium. Just then, another voice called her name. "Kira!" expecting resistance Kira's head snapped up, but it was only Cameron. "Oh--hi." under the circumstances, Cameron was the person she was least trying to avoid. Still, this was the first time she had seen him since that interview with herself, Lorcan and Taryn. Kira expected Cameron to confront her about it, since he had been the subject of the interview. Kira decided to jump onto it herself before he could offer any accusations. The least she could do was try to not mess up any more relationships. "I know it was stupid and all, and he is a big idiot, but you have to know that we were only trying to save you. Well, and get the presses attention on me to discourage him from trying to get back at me for punching him in the nose, but that's just secondary stuff..." Kira stopped. Cameron's normally sparkling eyes looked glazed over as he looked at her. "Um, you know." she said rather lamely. ----- Cameron"I know it was stupid and all, and he is a big idiot, but you have to know that we were only trying to save you. Well, and get the presses attention on me to discourage him from trying to get back at me for punching him in the nose, but that's just secondary stuff...Um, you know." Kira blurted out suddenly, all in one breath. Cameron blinked confused. For a moment, he thought she had been talking about Tanner... "Wait, what?" Cameron said, completely dumbfounded. Then it hit him. It had not been Tanner who she had punched in the nose. "ohhhhhh," realization hit him and he knew instantly what she had been talking about. "Oh, the Interview." he felt his brain buzzing, but he was glad to get his mind off his present troubles. "Yah, it's OK. But what is going on between you and L--" Cameron did a double take as they walked through the auditorium doors. A blazing red sparkly something hit him in the eye... Brittany and Fatine
"Wait, you know what Comic-Con is? Careful, your posse might start smelling geek in the water and decide to cull you from the horde."
Brittany bristled but the conversation continued before she could put the little freak in her place.
"Too bad the whole school knows how you'd like to... what is it?... put a stake in me,"
"A stake? No, you kill zombies with a head-shot."
Brittany rolled her eyes, Fatine merely smiled. The blonde girl turned, "C'mon Tina lets get out of here."
*** After all my charries' interviews ***
Sebi
Sebi waded through the crowd as people slowly began to exit the auditorium. "Hey Suri!" He called, finding her at last. "I gotta hand it to you, you were pretty awesome earlier, taking on The Queen Bee and her drones like that."
David
Unable to find his friends, David wondered aimlessly twoards the back of the auditorium where a small group of semi-distraught looking students had gathered around the poster.
Battle of the bands? David raised an eyebrow. These snakes are trying to rip the school apart any way they can.
One student, David was almost sure his name was Cameron, looked particularly dumfounded. "But..." he started.
"I thought you were already booked to do the music." A girl finished for him, frowning at the poster as well. "What the heck! Are these TV people going to ruin everyones lives?!"
"Ruined lives make for good TV." He commented, "I didn't know you had a band Cameron."
OT: Awkward maybe-a-backpost ._.
