Camron Alex looked down to see the small Irish girl. "Why don't you watch where you're going?! I'm trying to walk here!" The group behind him all nodded their heads as if almost on cue. "Sorry. My fault," she said. The collision had knocked the tears loose to run down her cheeks, but with a blink at least she could see better. Camron thought he heard the girl's voice shake. He leand foward and saw that there were tears running down her face. "Hey, no its alright." he told the girl gently, then turned to Alex. "No Alex, it was my fault. I ran into her first. Im sorry for the inconvenience. Hey you'd better get to class. Don't wanna be late." Camron's voice was genuine all round.

Miyuki: The boy turned away from her, but she saw the subtle distortion of his cheek that indicated he was smiling. Why wouldn't he want me to see him smile? Maybe he is trying not to laugh at me? But she had seen his sadness, and that didn't seem to fit with the kind of mentality that liked to ridicule others. That type of person would have already gone out and found someone to hurt, to project their pain onto, rather than sitting alone and soaking in it. Then he turned back to her.
For the first time in the conversation Tanner met her eyes, he nodded approvingly, "You know, there's nothing wrong with talking about the things you are passionate about. If you have something that you love so much, you should hang onto it."
Miyuki smiled at him. I hope you have something you love enough to hang onto, she thought.
His head turned toward the school when the bell rang to get to class. He grabbed his bag and stood. Tanner turned to Miyuki and held his hand out to her to help her off the ground. "I think it's great that you can believe in something so...worth believing in." His eyed widened, "I'm being really rude, I'm sitting here talking all about this, and I haven't even told you my name. It's Tanner." When he offered her his hand, she knew that her thoughts of being made fun of or misunderstood were foolish. His behaviors were adding up now, and meshing with what she'd seen before. He doesn't think he deserves friends. He doesn't want me to see him smile because he does not think he deserves to smile. He holds back his name because his emotions tell him it shouldn't be spoken.
"It is very nice to meet you, Tanner," she said, sincerity apparent in her features. "You do not need to apologize to me, I understand. You were preoccupied. Oh, if I don't see you again before school's out, would you like to meet there at one o'clock? Or maybe we could meet somewhere for lunch at noon so I could tell you about the people and kinda help you get ready?"

Alex Alex was about to turn on Cameron when Amber walked up. He felt a little fllustered after she kissed him, and was stunned for only a moment, before regaining his composure. He turned to her, "I was just about to show these two that they need to walk where there going so they don't rudely run into people." He looked between Cameron and Taryn, his eyes resting momentarily on each of them, before looking back to Amber. Tanner Tanner helped Miyuki to her feet and they started heading to class. "You know, I wouldn't mind going to lunch before hand, you know, so I can be prepared for what I might see there." Plus it would be nice to get away from his house. His parents liked to fuss over him when he was there so he tried to stay away as much as he could, which wasn't much. As they walked into the building Tanner froze when he saw a too familiar face. The dark hair and eyes were all to familiar. Cameron was involved in an argument with Alex, Tanner debated on whether he should step in or not. He wasn't popular anymore, but he was still in football, because he couldn't bring himself to give it up. However, he was far from on top, always getting placed in second string. Alex would be willing to listen to him, but Amber was there. She might be a buly, but no one would get physically hurt. So, even though Tanner wanted to help the Reyes family anyway he could, he would not interfere in an affair like this. Tanner turned back to Miyuki, "So, what got you started in going to the nursing home?"

Taryn:
The Neandertal Chieftain was momentarily distracted by the arrival of his Barbie-doll girlfriend, who surveyed the scene with her usual cat-that-got-the-canary smirk. Now was the time to bolt, let the two guys hoot and throw feces at each other to establish dominance or whatever, but something stopped her. Emo Kid. He kept trying to take the blame, draw the Brute's wrath away from her to himself.
If he takes a slug in the gut for me or somethin', he'll probably think I'm s'posed to be his little groupie. Taryn is there for Taryn, she thought, reciting a mantra she used to toughen up whenever she started feeling lonely and mopey about being on her own.Amber looked on haughtily as the moment stretched, like some old Roman emperor mulling the decision of thumbs up or thumbs down from his box seat at the Colosseum. She could diffuse the situation, or goad NC to attack. Emo and Taryn's fate was in her hands, or so she thought. Taryn's thoughts raced as she tried to figure out what to say if Amber tried to escalate things.
Miyuki:
Miyuki noticed the way Tanner tensed when they saw the confrontation ahead, but she couldn't think of anything she could do that Camron wasn't already doing.
"So, what got you started in going to the nursing home?" Tanner asked.
"I was helping take care of my Grandmother a couple years ago after she had a fall. She kept saying over and over again how she didn't want to go to a nursing home, how she hoped she'd die in her own home and still in charge of her own life. She told me about what they were like. So after she got better, I decided that a place that anybody would rather die that go to was a place I needed to be.
"But what about you? What sort of things do you like?" He had talked about her passion the way people talk about things they didn't have, but wished they did. 'It must be great for you to be such a famous singer. What's that like?' I hope he doesn't think I'm trying to compare or that whatever he's into won't measure up, she thought, nervousness creeping into the eager interest with which she waited for his answer.

Camron:
"I was just about to show these two that they need to walk where there going so they don't rudely run into people." "Well," Camron began, but stopped. He caught a movment out of the corner of his eye and turnd his head to look at the girl whom Alex had yelled at. She shifted uncomfortably, and her face was down cast. Camron's brow furrowed compassionatly, and he turned back to Alex. Camron stood tall and straight, a confidant posture, though his body was loose and relaxed. "Well no need to show me: i think i figured it out." Camron said knowingly, though not rudly. He tapped his temple with his finger as if to show it had gotten into his brain. Most of the students had gone to class. "But like i said, you should get to class." he said encouragingly. He took a steap foward, as if to go to his own class, but also seemed to be sheilding the girl from Alex's wrath. ----- Kira Kira was still standing there when the bell rang. The defining noise seemed to jolt her out of her revelry. She shook her head as if to clear it, and bent over to hoist her bag over her shoulder. When she straightend up, she cast one last dirty look in the general direction of Lorcan and his minions, then turnd on her heal and marched out of the cafiteria, nose straight in the air...untill she ran straight into a pole and bounced back dazed, that is. Kira wasnt sure if she heard people laughing, because there was a buzzing in her ears. Rubbing her nose, Kira proudly stuck it in the air again and marched out into the hall way. The gothic girl strided over to her locker. Each step seemed to take tention and pride out of her stride, and by the time she reached her locker, she seemd a little girl. Kira opend her locker and looked, not on the inside, but on the other side of the locker door. There was a picture taped there. With frayed, burned edges like a frame, it showed a little girl, around 3, with soft looking mousy brown hair, a lopsided grin, and blue dress. The little girl was staring pleased at a huge cake with candles on it, as though wondering what to wish for. Over the little girl's left shoulder, was a man with dark hair and gentle brown eyes. He was leaning over with his lips in an 'o' as though to help the little girl blow out her candles. Kira's candles. On her 3rd birthday. Her dad. it had been the first and only thing she had saved from the fire...

"Jasmine" Somone yelled she glanced up from her sketchbook wearily Stephen was skating towards her. She flicked her eyebrows up with a slightly exasperated but none the less curious expression "I bought this for you." He tossed something to her and by some miracle she managed to catch it with her free hand. He winked at her before he disappeared around a corner there was a suspiciously loud crashing noise and shriek a few seconds later. Leaning in her seat she managed to glance round the corner to see Stephen sprawled on he floor his skateboard upside down and a very distressed student who Stephen had had some sort of collision with. She laughed muffling her laughter with her hand and slipping the can of Dr.Pepper into her bag. Elizabeth was talking excitedly to the girls around her practically bouncing in her seat with all the talk about the prom. when suddenly a can of Dr.pepper some past her ear only to be caught seconds latter by Jasmine she stared at the can for a moment and giggled unexpectedly at the sheer stupidity of being knocked out by a can of Dr pepper. She stood up and turned only to come face to face with Lorcan He gave her a look that made her feel incredibly nervous and she took half a step back. "Well now" He said the Irish tint in his voice dangerously soft "Ye're a fine thing, aren't ye?" Elizabeth Opened her mouth to say something anything but she had no Idea how to respond to this kind of situation without leaving the interaction with a broken nose. Jasmine stood up Irritated at the unwanted advances being made on her cousin she turned to Lorcan. "Back Off Lorcan" She snapped at him. "She's not interested, Just like all the other sane females at this school." there was a certain hatred in her glare Jasmine Knew Lorcan almost certainly was one of her fathers underlings. Jasmine knew there was a chance he would lash out at her. But She knew her fathers would of clearly stated not to touch her. In fear of his wife and parents wrath a long with numerous other members of her family who were concerned of Jasmines well being. Technically this protection would of spread to Elizabeth too, but there had been a slight argument between Jasmine and Elizabeth's fathers. Not enough to start a feud. But enough to make Jasmines father not go out of his way to directly protect his niece and make the two edgy around each other for a couple of moths. Of course if Jasmine and Elizabeth's grandmother ever found out harm had come to her grandchildren there would be all hell to pay. Lorcan Remained silent as Jasmine stared him down Suddenly the bell rang and Elizabeth sprinted off to her locker. Jasmine turned to follow her before shaking her head and turning to check on Stephen who was still sprawled spectacularly on the floor. She crouched down beside him and gingerly poked him in the cheek with her pencil. "You will probably be trampled in a moment by a flock of crazed stampeding teenagers you know. So unless you've somehow managed to dislocate your ankle or something similar you might wanna get up"[

Masaki:
"Yes, I would like you to sell the copper futures and move the principal to November contracts for sweet light crude," Masaki said into his phone, pushing the double-doors open and entering the corridor. He winced as he saw an oddly dressed girl walk straight into a pole. She rubbed her nose, then hiked her chin up proudly and strode across toward the lockers like she was queen of the world. Now Masaki had to clench his teeth to keep from laughing in his broker's ear. That the girl had hurt herself wasn't funny. Her response, was. There was just something so adorably plucky about her. "Than you. Please keep me updated," he said, and ended the call.
I should not like her. Mother and Father would die. But Miyuki would be delighted. He could just see the joyous look on his sister's face, his sister instantly embracing the girl as a friend. Miyuki would be delighted with anyone I went with...as long as it was for true feeling and not...not out of duty. As he got closer, he saw that the girl was standing at her locker, staring not inside, but at the opened door. Then he saw it. A picture, scorched around the edges. A little girl with a birthday cake and a man behind her. It had been a happy picture once, but now it had Sad Story written all over it.
Miyuki would care. Miyuki would help her. Make her feel better. Masaki wished she was there, because she would do it properly. But he could not just walk by, pretend the girl did not exist.
"Excuse me," he said, stopping beside her, but not too close. "Are you alright?"

"Excuse me," he said, stopping beside her, but not too close. "Are you alright?" "dub...?!" Kira made an incomprehensive noise, a little startled. Most people were in class by now, and she hadn't heard anyone come up. she turnd around so ubruptly, she slammed her locker shut with her shoulder. Well luckly you didn't need anything from it, Kira. She mutterd in her head, then, "Hmm, what?" She stared from the Asian guy to her locker, then back. Does he mean the photo? But how could he know...? Kira thought she saw him staring at her rather red nose..."Oh, that." she managed, rubbing her nose. "yes, quite alright. At least my nose dosn't need plastic surgery anymore. Poles are wonderful nose shaping devises." She joked, compleatly seriously.

Masaki:
The girl turned a pair of mesmerizing dark eyes on Masaki, eyes that sparkled with mirth and humor, standing out against her pale skin, inviting him to tumble into their depths. When his turn to speak came, no articulate reply presented itself.
"...Your nose does not need 'shaping.' It is fine the way it is," he said, feeling woefully inept. "I am glad you are alright. We should get to our classes. Have a good day," he said, giving her a little bow before heading toward his next class. Well. That was impressive, I'm sure, he thought sarcastically. But what should I have said? She is a pretty girl, but I cannot go to the Prom with her. She is not my type, and I am not hers.
He could picture the girl who was 'his type:' stylishly but not ostentatiously dressed. Excellent grades. Plays concert-level piano or one of the bowed string instruments. Serious. Has solid career plans. Does not walk into poles and make jokes about it. Does not have the aura of some quirky Shinto trickster-spirit. Someone he could introduce to Mother and Father...
OT: I can't help but think of Kira's collision as the opening line of a joke: "A girl walks into a bar..."

A JP by Katblossom and Logos, Part I
Elizabeth/Lorcan:
"Back Off Lorcan" Jasmine snapped at him. "She's not interested, Just like all the other sane females at this school."
"Sane? Females?" Lorcan said with a cocky smirk. "Don't ye worry, I know how t' get what I want," he said, giving Elizabeth another ogle. Elizabeth darted off for her locker, and while Jasmine was preoccupied with the klutz in the shutter shades, Lorcan and his minions slipped off in pursuit.
He smiled cruelly when he spotted her alone at her locker. By now, most everyone else had cleared out, and people knew to stay out of his way in any case. He stepped up behind Elizabeth, while his minions took positions to her left and right, blocking her escape.
"That wasn't very polite of you to just run off without so much as sayin' 'hi,' now, was it?"
"Excuse me sir," an Asian-accented voice said. "If the lady will not greet you, it means you should leave her alone." Lorcan turned his head slowly to regard the source of the interruption. Some weird-looking guy with longish black hair, loose-fitting cotton clothes, and jewelry made of heavy beads. There was a certain tranquility about him that made Lorcan want to laugh.
"I think ye'd best not be stickin' yer big nose in things that aren't yer business, Tonto. Ye're liable t' get it busted."
Narayan:
The jangling of the school bell was a jarring and unpleasant way to end a meditation. There was something disturbing about training kids to come and go at the sound of a bell, like trick dogs. But it was the Way of things here. He gathered his things and headed for his locker. He had just reached it when someone ran past. Swishing long hair, a curvaceous form. A girl! And she was alone! I should try to meet her, he thought, surprised by the rare opportunity. Except that she is in a hurry. She will not want to be bothered. Moments later, Narayan saw why.
The three boys in black certainly looked menacing, especially their leader. Narayan tried to avoid jumping to conclusions, since Americans dressed in all manner of ways, but he watched them closely. They gathered around her. Narayan quietly closed his locker and stepped in their direction. When the leader spoke, he made it clear: they were not her friends.
"The safety and well-being of the lady is my business. Take your friends and leave her in peace."
Lorcan nodded to one of his minions, who grabbed Elizabeth by the arm to keep her from going anywhere, then turned to face Narayan.
"And just how d' ye plan on makin' us, eh, Tonto?" he said, taking a step in Narayan's direction, with his other minion backing him up.
"If coercion is necessary, then I am sorry for the pain I must cause you." The strangest thing to Lorcan about the boy's 'apology' was that he sounded like he really meant it.
"Are ye threatenin' me?" Lorcan said, with as much surprise as anger. "Oh, you'll wish you never said that, mate!" he said, throwing a punch right at the other kid's face. He hit only air. Narayan twisted his body aside, grabbed Lorcan's wrist with one hand, planted the palm of the other on his shoulder, and used Lorcan's forward momentum to thrust him over an outstretched foot, sprawling him on the floor. Continuing the flow of his own momentum, Narayan threw a spin-kick at the temple of the nearest minion, who slammed into the lockers and slumped to the ground.
The second minion pushed Elizabeth into the lockers and charged, throwing a furious barrage of punches. Narayan's arms blocked in a blur of motion, his wide cotton sleeves snapping like flags. Seeing an opening, he slipped under the minion's guard, slamming the base of his palm into the gangster's jaw in an uppercut that lifted his feet from the floor. The thug crumpled like a puppet with its strings cut.
*click*
"Not very smart of ye, takin' chop socky to a gunfight," Lorcan said, glowering over the barrel of a Desert Eagle.
Narayan took a slow step-turn toward the other side of the hallway, drawing the aim of Lorcan's gun away from the girl.
"Now why don't ye just run along, and let me and 'the lady' have our fun. Or I'll be real broken up over the pain I'll 'ave t' cause ye."
Narayan lunged into a shoulder-roll, reaching for his necklace. The gun roared, and the bullet hissed through the air where he'd been standing. As Narayan came out of the roll, he swung his heavy necklace to crack against Narayan's gun hand, knocking it aside. Crouched low, he sent a sweeping kick at the back of Lorcan's knees, taking his legs out from under him. Lorcan's head clanged against the lockers on his way down, and he tried to shake out of a daze.
Narayan's leg swung through the kick then up high in a smooth arc. He brought his heel down on Lorcan's forehead like the blade of an axe. Lorcan's head caromed off the lockers behind him, and he slumped unconscious.
Behind him, Narayan heard one of the other gangsters scrambling to his feet. He jumped up to face him, pulling back an arm to strike.
"Iiiyah!" A high-pitched battle-cry, and a heavy hardcover book slammed into the back of the thug's head. He went down, and Narayan suddenly found himself confronted by...
Eyes that gleamed like the most precious emeralds. Creamy skin, softer than the finest silk. Lustrous hair, and lips that formed an exquisite, perfect bow. Narayan stared transfixed for a long moment, unable to speak.
Then he realized he still had his fist pulled back for a blow against the fallen gangster.
"Oh!" he said, quickly coming out of his combat stance. He placed his fist in his left palm in front of his chest and bowed to her. "Are you alright miss?" he said, desperately hoping that she would not feel threatened by him.

Have a good day," he said, giving her a little bow before heading toward his next class. Kira followed him with wide eyes and a slightly vacant expression. This is the 21st century right? Did he just bow at me? Not that that was a bad thing...(was it?) just a first occurance. Kira seemed to acctauly take in this guys appearence for the first time. Nice shoes, professional cloths, neat hair. A very well groomed person, Kira noted, as he slipped a very fancy looking phone into his pocket. Someone who had it together. For some reason, somone like that intimidated her more than bullys like Lorcan. It was only then she realized she hadn't thanked the Asian guy for his concern. (she wasn't quite sure if it was suppose to be a complemnt) and that she didn't even know his name. He was about a dozen steaps away when she piped up, "Thanks, um..." whatever your name is. Though she wasn't sure if he had heard. Thinking that shouting after him wouldn't exactly be polight to the classes around, Kira turnd to go to to her own class.
ot: rofl yess! =D i'm hoping Kira can come off as a bit comical :3 and here's one for you: An Irishman walked OUT of a bar...*gasp* xD

If he every caught Cameron in his way again, it would be the end of him for sure, but he couldn't get a bad mark in class or he would be thrown off of the football team. Rosie Rosie was heading to choir quickly, becuase she had lost track of time, and was now late, when she saw the flying papers. Her eyes widened and she looked over to see Lucas frantically picking up his sprawled papers. Her eyes filled with compasion and she knelt down to help pick up the papers out of his reach. "Oh my goodness! Are you ok?"She said with her thick southern accent. Rosie hadn't seen what had happened to see him drop all of his stuff, but it had to have been something pretty bad for his papers to spread across the floor like they did.

Amber
Alex turned to her, "I was just about to show these two that they need to walk where there going so they don't rudely run into people." His eyes rested momentarily on the the two who had gotten in his way apparantly, before looking back at Amber.
Amber looked at them for a few moments, wondering how she should handle the situation. She let Alex think he had the power in their relationship. In reality, she could manipulate him so that he does what she wants, only he thinks it's what he wants. Being blessed with strikingly good looks reaps tremendous rewards in High School, if you know how to use them. Amber was a master at using them.
Her disapproving look transformed into an innocent, needy look when she turned back towards Alex. She set her hand on his chest and spoke quietly, "Just forget about them right now, Baby. I need to talk to you about something really important." She said, flashing her big brown eyes. "You know you're gonna do what I say no matter what you empty-headed ape. Any physical interaction with me makes you so turned on I don't even think you hear a word I say so you just smile and say yes while pretending to not be staring at my boobs." she thought to herself. Secrtly, she hated Alex. Who seriously wanted to be in a relationship with someone who greatly resembles a caveman in intellect? Sure he was smart, but only enough to pass his classes with a good grade. Amber was much, much smarter. She truly ruled the chool. she was their Queen. And if a relationship with any guy guaranteed her stay in power, she'd without a doubt be in his bed as fast as possible to ensure his full cooperation.
Her innocent look vanished into a menacing face as she glared back at the two instigators. First she looked at the boy. "Why don't you go find all your other little hipster friends before my boyfriend figures out why he should pound your face in." Then she looked over at the younger girl, but still spoke to Cameron. "And maybe on your way you could drop your friend back off at her Middle School." she said full aware that the girl had skipped a few grades.

Camron:
Alex rolled his eyes and took a threatening step toward Cameron. "You're lucky that I have to get to class, or you would be dead." He glared down at him, before turning on his heal and heading toward his next class. Camron looked calmly back at Alex with luqid compassion eyes, glad he could sheild the girl from Alex's murderous glance. He felt like saying something very witty, and true, like 'we would all be dead if it wern't for the love of Jesus, Alex,' but decided that it was not the right moment. He gave a small, but sympathetic smile and said simply, "Well i guess its my lucky day then, Alex. Sorry for the trouble." Camron said it like he ment it, not as if he only said it to get out of trouble himself. "Why don't you go find all your other little hipster friends before my boyfriend figures out why he should pound your face in." Then she looked over at the younger girl, but still spoke to Cameron. "And maybe on your way you could drop your friend back off at her Middle School." Amber said menicingly. Camron stared back at her with a slighly furrowed brow, as if wondering why she was saying such mean things, but he also looked back at her with the same genuinly innocent eyes. He then turned back to the girl that he was sheilding. She did look younger than alot of people. He turned back to Amber. "Well if i do, Amber, it will be because middle school is the new name for where all the smart girls go, and i'll have to take you there too." Camron blinked. The weird thing was it sounded like he ment it. And he did. With his genuine voice, innocent and sympathetic eyes, and confident but friendly posture, everything he said rang true. It would have seemed insulting coming from somone else, but coming from Camron's attractive spirit, it was hard to think him anything but truthful: And innocent. Hopefully Alex would gather that Camron was being nice to his girlfriend and not hitting on her. He watched Alex and Amber saunter off with a sad look in his eyes.

I don't really have anything to be passionate about right now." He watched his feet as they made their way past the group, "I guess you could say I'm afraid of what it would lead to."
Miyuki listened intently, noting the reserve with which he chose his words, and the shame in his posture. She reached out and softly touched his shoulder.
"You will find something, I know you will. Once you have chosen the path you should be on. There are two ways I think it is easy to find the right kind of passion: helping people, and creating things that are beautiful or helpful in some way. When you find a way that comes from your interests and talents, then you will have found your passion. I sense that you are a good person. A kind person. And that you have it within you to do wonderful things."
Taryn:
Though she was in no hurry to get thumped by the big ape, Taryn couldn't just let Tickle Me Emo 'protect' her, as if she were his. She stepped around him, gathering her strength for the confrontation ahead. When the Brute stepped menacingly toward TME, she opened her mouth. Before she could say anything to discourage him, he made a menacing quip and stalked off. That's a relief, she thought. By now, Amber had started to wield her legendary acid tongue.
"Why don't you go find all your other little hipster friends before my boyfriend figures out why he should pound your face in." Then she looked over at the younger girl, but still spoke to Cameron. "And maybe on your way you could drop your friend back off at her Middle School." Taryn bristled, not at the comment on her age, but the way Amber addressed the 'middle school' insult to him, not her.
Taryn felt a grudging respect for TME though, as he gave his gentle and diplomatic reply. He had to have some serious self-control to be able to pull that off. Then there was the way he went with the whole dark clothes and shoe-polish black hair dangling in the eyes Emo look, juxtaposed against a happy-happy personality as far away from the stereotype as one could get. If he was deliberately doing that as a Zen-like way of getting people to question their mental ruts and automatic pre-judgments of people, that was, Taryn had to admit to herself, pretty cool.
But that didn't make her some minion of his.
"Mr. Ambassador here doesnae know me from Adam, so if ye got somethin' t' say t' me, Barbie, ye can say it t' me. Oh, and by th' time I'm yer age, I'll be halfway through my Bachelor's at M.I.T.. And you'll be churnin' out sprog for boyo there," she said, hiking her chin toward Alex's departing back, "and handin' him beers while he watches the game on the telly and re-lives his glory days here at Bentley High."
