Sor – God of the Nephilim, Instinct, Strength of Will and Vengence
Age – Sor came into being shortly after Nilo (so nearly 700), however it took several centuries for his essence to stabilize itself enough to become a coherent entity.
Home – As The Storm Bringer, Sor resides among the peaks of a V shaped and partially submerged mountain range known as The Knuckles {or Khaos’s Knucklebones more specifically, so named because they look like the knuckles of of Khaos reaching up from the bottom of the ocean}. As long as Sor is residing there, the bay below is wracked with storms giving it the name ‘Valley of the Tempest’. As Hezuri Sor travels alongside herds of manticore as they travel across the Zyrican desert. When the manticore make camp, Hezuri is housed in an elaborate tent where his subjects can approach him. Note – Sor cannot take both forms at once, but can shift from one body/location to the other at will.

Sor as Storm Bringer -
th04.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/i/2012/232/1/d/chimera_by_tsaoshin-d5bug0s.png In his true form Sor takes the body of a creature similar to Greek mythology’s chimera with the body and head of a lion, wings of an eagle and the legs of a bull. His tail in this form is a venomous sea serpent named Teshet. Though Sor is aware of Teshet’s thoughts she thinks and speaks independently. Teshet’s thoughts are a shadow of Khaos’s own vindictiveness. Sor is quiet large in this form {standing more than 7ft at the shoulder} and is often accompanied by some form of storm, be it blizzard, squall, or tornado. Though this form is often depicted in the stories and art of the Nephilim, Sor has not shown this form to a mortal in over two centuries.
Sor as Hezuri the Scorpian Prince–data.whicdn.com/images/30737121/1335311407-demon-boy-by-sakimichan_large.jpg For the last seventy years or so, Sor has used the form of the Scorpian Prince when appearing to mortal man or saint. Hezuri takes the form of a youth about 14, passably human save for a few features. Living among his subjects the manticores, he adopts some of their features such as cloven hooves {and white furred legs}, a scorpian’s tale and horns on the head {though he has more than the typical manticore}. He wears clothes typical of the desert climate he currently resides in and is capable of manipulating sand.
Bio - Though the name 'Sor' is most commonly thought of as meaning 'born from war/conflict' another less common reading is 'blood-bile'. Legend has it that while Kyros and Kaos were locked in battle, the Nephilim were born from the pools of blood, bile, sweat and essence that pooled beneath their feet. How exactly this happened is mystery to all but the oldest of the gods, however, Sor is recognized as being unique among the gods as having first been 'scattered' within his subjects {who were more powerful and dangerous in the years shortly after the war} and then centralized into one powerful entity of godlike or nearly godlike powers. That said, the Nephilim did not cease to exist after Sor's formation {though many races died quickly or were hunted to extinction shortly after the war} they did lose some of their prowess and became more animal/human than demonic/angelic.
Sor's 'debut' as a centralized god came in the year 400 where he took the form of large sea-serpent attacking Rovani ships. The Rovani, at this time, were trying to take out one of Sor's sacred races, the Siren, as the creatures were frequently luring sailors into the water to kill and eat them. It was not an unfamiliar happening, by any means, but this time the collected anger of the Nephilim were enough to pull Sor into his form among the sirens. Eventually, the Rovani were forced to lessen their efforts against the sirens and alter some of their trade routes.
Similar events followed in other nations until eventually Sor took the form of 'Storm Bringer' to confront the gods demanding to be counted among them and as such have his races be counted among sentient man.
Needless to say, this was not a popular move and Sor's position within the gods is still shaky at best. For the most part Sor dislikes and distrusts the other gods and they feel the same towards him. However, there has been some recognition that his races may be more than just half demonic brutes. Sor has asked the Nephilim to not attack or feed on humans without provocation {though conflict still happens... a good bit} and most of the human races have stopped systematically hunting them.
Because even his status as a god is unsure, Sor does not have the ability to make saints. However, some Nephilim with a special devotion to him are more connected to their ancient powers. They are more powerful than others of their race, but less powerful than a typical saint.
OT: Sorry, I know thats sort of jumbled and confused. If yall have questions {or things I need to adjust} please ask! ^_^
The NephilimNot actually a race or culture in itself, Nephilim is a catch-all term for the monsters born during the battle of Kyros and Kaos. As a rule they blend both animal and human characteristics with some (such as Sirens and Avians) being more humanoid than others (such as Minotaurs and Sabirs). Though some may posses limited elemental powers this is very rare and difficult {if not impossible} to master with any real control. Most Nephilim races are nomadic or semi-nomadic with only two Nephilim cities being known to exist, Solaris the city of the Avians and Miriturk city of Sabirs.
Though there may be other races {and please, feel free to add your own lore or tell me to shut up} the four most common are the ones listed above.
Sabir - The Sabir are a large cat-like race mostly inhabiting mountains around Forsvar. Sabir society is nomadic and mostly matriarchal with young males being required to venture out into the world before returning to the military camp/town of Miriturk to continue their training and seek a mate. It is these young Sabir's that people are most familar with, as they tend to represent the most thoughtless and violent of their species. Often young Sabir's will form bands of criminals working either for hire or to grow their own riches {so as to win the affection of one or many mates upon returning home}. Sabir males that do not return home often become body guards or assasins but such long-staying in the realm of man is frowned upon by older Sabirs. All cubs are born in the spring around the same time. Mothers with young cubs stay with them in Mirituk pride-tents housing a group of 4-5 females {usually belonging to one or two males} and their young while males and unwed females hunt. When they are around 6-7 the children may join in on these hunts or raids. Male Sabir's leave for their journey around 15-17 and usually return by their mid twenties.
Sabir's have a diffrent idea of posession than most other races. For a Sabir, if you have the physical strength to obtain and continue to posses an item it is yours, as such theft is not necessarily dishonorable {though theft from your elder is likely inadvisable} but hiding a valued object is as this is seen as artificial strength.
Siren Once thought to be exclusively female it is now understood that male sirens take the form of large amphibious snakes that burrow deep into the sand beneath warm and shallow waters, rarely surfacing. While the males are deadly if roused, it is the females most are familiar with and fear. Siren's have the head and torso of a beautiful woman and the lower body of a fish. They are nomadic and travel in groups of 20-30 mature females {The young also take the form of sea-snakes before a transformation}. It is the female siren that posesses the races intelligence as they lure sailors into the water and then eat them {Sirens are entirely carnivorous and more likely to eat humans than any other Nephilim} and such are hated by most water dwelling people.
Minotaur Minotaur's are large bull-like creatures with lion-like manes and a scorpian's poison tale. When walking they stand upright (often over 7ft tall) but they run on all fours. Minotaurs do not farm, but are known to root up the land in search of roots to eat. They prefer desert or Savannah environments and are known to go a long time without water. There are three main herds of minotaur, each holding about 300 individuals making them the most numerous Nephilium race. They mostly inhabit two otherwise deserted islands in the south but are known to occasionally swim or take boats to Chalco or Meian villages and conduct raids. For Minotaurs these raids offer a chance for young Minotaurs to prove themselves {they also fight eachother} and gain honor within the herd. They often wear the bones of those they've killed on their garmets.
The religons and rituals of the Minotaur are strange to behold. Though elders are given some religous status {to live to be old one must have been a great warrior} however most of the Minotaur priests are in fact human woman and girls who have been captured on raids {as well as a few of their descendants}. It is a strange practice that isn't well understood however it is not uncommon to see woman clinging to the back of running manicores during raids, brandishing poisioned spears.
Avians - Avians are perhaps the most human looking of nephilim with human bodies and faces and a birds wings and feet. They mostly stay away from people, but are known to occasionally steal goods from the Teohuaca. Their songs can put man into a deep slumber. Very few living men have ever seen an Avian.
The flag of the Nephilim is simply a black sheet with three jagged diagnol scratch marks cut into it.
Note- I don't expect to go much into Siren or Avian culture. Minotaur and Sabir background will be explored with two of my charries.
Note2 - Though it rarely happens, all Nephilim can interbreed and could also breed with humans if they wanted too. Offspring of these pairings often appear more human than their parents and are often considered freaks or outcasts by the parents tribes.
