Name/Titles: Meryth Seba'it en Ta-nefertem-shetii (meaning: Lover of Wisdom, of [the city] Beautiful Among the Reeds). She is commonly addressed as "Meryth" or "Mer-mer" ["Beloved"] by those very close to her. This is her Path-Name.
Age: 19
Appearance:
Birthplace:
The city of Ta-nefertem-shetii (not presently on Amanda's maps, it is located on one of the islands).
Ancestry/Titles: Meryth views her ancestry as being collectively the adults and Elders of Ta-nefertem-shetii. She is currently on her Walk of the Wide Path, living aboard the Ship San en Uath-enti ("Dolphin of the Middle Sea"), and has no Life-Name yet.
Special Skills: Mathematics, geometry, clockwork engineering, philosophy, meditation. She has also received training in An-Kheftiu, a magically-enhanced martial art that combines a flowing Aikido-like unarmed style with a swift, efficient style of swordplay using the falcata. Magic is used to increase speed and strength, help lift and shift weight during throws, and allow the practitioner to "throw" punches and kicks to hit opponents out of physical reach. Meryth is mid-level in skill, and she has not used this in actual combat (prior to her OP).
Weapons and Special Items: Falcata shortsword:
Meryth also has a toolkit for tinkering with clockwork mechanisms, which includes an abacus and brass slide rule.
Biography:
Meryth was born in Ta-nefertem-shetii, a prosperous river City. From a young age, she loved its libraries, lyceums, dojos, and the discussions in the Agora. Because of this, she was given the Child-Name Neterti, meaning "bright eyes" (also a reference to the Sun and Moon, the "eyes" of the celestial realm). As she grew older, Neterti developed an aptitude for mechanical things, and apprenticed with a master clockwork engineer. Due to the structure of Djema'ti society, there is no standing army, and every individual is expected to learn the arts of self and collective defense. With other children her age, Neterti trained in An-Kheftiu, including meditation and breathing techniques and the concentration techniques needed to summon and direct her Ka (Nami) energy.
A couple of years prior to the present, Neterti had an idea for a mechanical "computer" that would control mechanisms for flying a kite in figure-eight patterns. Scaled up, such a device could control a giant kite as a sail for Ships. The kite could achieve higher altitude than possible with a mast, and be larger than conventional sails. She hopes this device will usher in a new era for her people's sailing fleets. Eager for opportunities to build and test her invention at sea, she chose to start her Walk aboard a Ship, the San en Uath-enti.
(Side Note: Elecard Esquire is not my Characters real name. With changing from country to country, Elecard changes his name to "fit in". But he will be called Elecard for the game.)
Name: Captain Ivan RoransonAge: 24
Birthplace: Fulmerswich
Ancestry/Titles: Ivan has an indirect link to Lord Elliot. His father married the niece of Lord Elliot, making Ivan a distant cousin. He has also worked his way into the rank of "captain" in the Elliot-Swanschase branch of the cavalry. His rank is just beneath Constable.
Special Skills: Captain Roranson is an expert horseman. His skill in mounted combat is rivaled only by the High Constable himself. His weapon of choice is a broadsword, but he has training with spears as well as bows. Although he is well respected as Captain, Ivan is most well known for being a messenger. His primary horseback skill is sheer speed, as he can read a horse's body language exceedingly well, and adapt to its movement. Being a herald has taught him to have a silver tongue, and as a result, he is an excellen negotiator, as well as an inspirational speaker.
Weapons, Special Items, etc: His broadsword, and usually a small, concealed dagger in case of ambush while delivering a message. Don't forget his trusty steed! This is
Taima. She was a gift Ivan received from his short run in with the Ugalan people as they believed he held a special bond with horses. She was named after the ancient Ugalan word for "thunder" since this is how they describe the sound of many horses running together. She has been with Ivan since she was a foal, and they share an impenetrable bond. As much as he trusts his fellow soldiers, there is no one else he would rather have watching his back in the heat of battle.
Biography: Ivan was born in Fulmerswich to a well-off family who owned a ranch and raised livestock. Since his mother was related to Lord Elliot, his family was never in want of anything, and the community made sure of it. Even early on, Ivan had a way with the horses. Ivan's father was a Son of Elliot, and it was always expected of him to become one as well. Although he was loyal to his province, Ivan never had any intention of staying there for the rest of his life. Just before his sixteenth birthday, he announced he was taking one of the stallions and heading out to see the world. He did just that, but it didn't quite work out the way he planned since the nations were in the middle of combat.
After a particularly long, grueling segment of his journey, he was discovered by the Ugala people. They were cautious around him at first, but when they realized he wasn't a threat to them, they became curious. They took him in, helped him recover, and gave him a peaceful place to rest for a short while. This is where he gained their trust, and earned their respect.
During his travels, Ivan saw it all. He saw the destruction from various points of view, learned of other cultures and religions, and gained an understanding for human differences. It caused him to be a compassionate man, but he also realized he was needed back home to make sure the nightmares he had seen never reached his family. He joined the ranks of Elliot's cavalry, and his skill was quickly recognized. He was promoted to Captain, and now holds charge over a small group of elite horsemen in battle. Between combat, he is constantly on the go as a messenger between provinces.
Name: Maerwynn FairfaxAge: 20
Birthplace: Noreve, The Capital
Ancestry/Titles: Maerwynn is the firstborn of King Fairfax of Arcavis Lady Fairfax, who's maiden name was Bishop. Maerwynn's titles include: Lady Maerwynn, Princess Fairfax, Daughter of Fairfax, Daughter/Princess of Noreve, Lady of the Cidital.
Special Skills: A skilled manager of state matters, authority as a princess, and the gift of Sight.
Personality: Maerwynn is a respected lady and an esteemed princess of her people, particularly the commoners. She has a fiery spirit and wisdom beyond her years, and though she has not been in battle for her country, she helps Arcavis in whatever ways she can. One of her titles is Lady of the Cidital because every Tuesday and Saturday, she sits in the Cidital and holds a small court for any people, commoners or nobles, to resolve matters large or small. She would even travel to some of the houses of the knights for this same reason, if the Lords requested her assistance, however her father has not permitted her to travel much lately. She has also helped the war efforts by selling most of her jewels and wardrobe and giving the money to help provide for soilders, as well as some of the poorer provences of commoners. Because of her esteemed integrity, air of authority, and love for her people, her father has allowed her to manage many of his affairs of state, which he considers to be a good skill for the future queen.
Maerwynn has inhearted the serness and pride from her grandmother Fairfax (who's maiden name was Archer), and posesses all the manners, properness, and authroity of a princess and Lady. She also was born with the gift of Sight from her Mother's side of the family (Bishop). Maerwynn can see visions and the future, usually only through dreams when she is sleeping. However during the day she can also recieve visions, if she sees, hears, tastes, touches, or smells something that has to do with her visions. She also has the gift of Descernment: she can better see and regocnize magic of any kind, and she is not very eaisly decieved by it. However these magical gifts are newly budding, and she does not yet regocnize them for what they are.
Weapons, Special Items: She keeps a small knife on her peson at all times for self defence, and she is a fair shot at archery. She also wears a royal signent ring. She enjoys playing the harp.
Biography: She was raised as a tipical princess (almost). Maerwynn was born the eldest child and daughter of the king, a year after the beginning of the war. In a time of war, her parents tried to bring her (and the rest of her siblings) up as normal as possible. However growing up in a time of war still shaped her life growing up. Her parents sought to shelter her physcally and mentally from the effects of the war, but being a decerning and fiery spirit from a young age, she caught on anyway. Even at a young age she began to help her parents and family by performing small tasks, or offering constructive critisisiam. Soon her parents began to nurture her talents and give her harder tasks, aside from giving the normal rituals and education that a young Lady would recieve. She surpassed above and beyond the expectations laied down for her. Her family and tutors were thrilled by her knowlege and wisdom, calling her a gift from God to help their nation--Maerwynn was raised Credan. (Will add more to this later--I can't think of anything!)
Name: Karryhs BishopAge: 40
Birthplace: Deepwalk (Arcavis)
Ancestry/Titles: Son of Bishop, Lord Bishop, Lord of Deepwalk
Special Skills: skilled fighter, years of experience
Appearance: There are no pictures that I really liked for him.
This one was the one I liked best, but it's missing a couple signature things. Like his hair should be black, with a few grays jumbled in. And he shouldn't look quite so... serious? Stoic, I guess. Anyway, Karryhs is "a tall slender figure...with a peppered head of raven hair much like his son’s. His forehead was covered in lines, each detailing a new portion of the wisdom he’d earned over the years. He had a thick scruff around his chin that was grayer, even, than his hair."
Weapons, Special Items, etc.?: a sword of Corovean make, black hilt with a silver dragon etched onto the pommel. A pair of twin daggers.
Biography: Karryhs was nineteen when the war began and followed his father into battle on many occasions afterward, much like Kade does now. Unlike his son, he was born during an era of peace and never imagined he would need to use the fighting skills he was taught from such a young age. However, his father, Kevska, had somehow understood the political tides better than most and insisted on teaching his son combat.
Despite being part of one of the first generations to know war once again, and despite losing his wife, Siarra, during childbirth, Karryhs is generally an optimistic leader. He has a vast amount of pride in his son and will fight for Kade if nothing else. He likes to invent tall tales, stories of his travels in far-off places he's never been to. He revels in the solstice-season and enjoys festivity. But don't let his good nature fool you; he's been to many a battle and he's all business when it comes to war.
Karryhs's sister, Eavanna, married the King of Arcavis.
Name: RylecAge: 25
Birthplace: A small insignificant village out in the Arcyan country
Special Skills: He is a Namic Warrior, at full harmonization he has been noted as bending the air out of his way.
Weapons, Special Items, etc:
Bio: Rylec was born four years before the war began and led a happy life up until then; when he was about four and a half years old his family was attacked by bandits. His father fought bravely but in the end he was held down and forced to watch his wife be ravaged and then killed. Rylec then watched as they toyed with his father then killed him. They didn’t find him because he was hidden away and so small.
After the bandits made off with all that his family owned he ran, where he was running he didn’t know. He just ran until he collapsed at the front door of the great Magi temple of the Namic Order. After hearing his story and seeing his resolve, because no mere child could have made it this far: He was allowed to become a Namic Trainee’
He was given too one of the most gentle Namic Father’s of the order, Father Leon, who had one other trainee’, named Roc. Rylec and he soon struck up a friendship. Leon and Roc helped their friend let go of his hate for those bandits: “Not because they don’t deserve, but because our Nami doesn’t deserve it.” Leon said to them to him one day.
Around the age of 15 they became good friends with the siblings Laura and Lane, Rylec falling madly in love with Laura, and she in kind. And as province would have it, they all graduated at the same time, each completing their soul weapons around the same time.
Recently, the Namic Elder asked Leon to take, Laura, Lane and Roc to investigate the ones behind the war and report back. Rylec was out on another mission so he couldn’t go. It would be time for the Namic army to enter the war. But something went terribly wrong, they never reported back.
Rylec demanded he be allowed to look for them, and it was allowed, his Namic Friend, Namic Father, and Namic Lover where all missing. He’d be best to track them down.
Before the battle of Gullsforde he was in the city resupplying after a week of failures, his family had simply disappeared. At least last time he knew what happened. But when the fighting broke out he was drawn to it. For no Namic would leave when other’s need help.
Name: Cianha LlyonnaAge: 14
Birthplace: Lyonnsbaird, one of the farming villages that supports the capital city of Noreve.
Ancestry/Titles: Cianha is the daughter of a cobbler and a washerwoman in Noreve, whom she barely remembers. No titles.
Special Skills: Farming, housework, weaving, spinning and sewing, and she's learning how to be a handmaiden to a Princess.
Appearance:
Weapons/Special Items, etc.: None. Knitting needles, maybe.
Biography:
Cianha's parents were peasants living in one of the poorer sections of Noreve, struggling to make ends meet. They had more children than they could support. Cianha was indentured to a petty "nobleman," Caedric, the lord of Llyonnsbaird, a small farming village outside of the capital. There, she was put to work in the fields, as well as household tasks and domestic manufacturing (spinning, weaving, sewing). Caedric of Llyonsbaird was a harsh taskmaster, wringing as much labor out of Cianha, other urchins like her, and the ragged peasants of the village as possible.
Cianha's miserable existence came to an end on a trip to Noreve to sell a consignment of cloth and rugs. She tripped on a cobblestone and dropped the heavy bags she was carrying in front of an expensive-looking coach, forcing the coachman to yank back on his reins and jolt the carriage to a halt. Caedric, seeing that someone of high status was sure to be offended, started viciously caning Cianha while shouting at her to get her fallen load out of the coach's way Right! Now! When a severe-looking young woman in fine clothes and the personal presence of highest nobility disembarked from the carriage, Caedric started hitting Cianha even harder while profusely apologizing for her clumsiness, hoping that the ferocity of his punishment of her would assuage the noblewoman's wrath.
To both his and Cianha's astonishment, the Lady took her side. Caedric was stripped of his title and his wealth, which was given to his peasants and indentured servants. Since Cianha was beaten badly enough to need medical treatment and time to recover, she was brought to the Castle. When the noblewoman, who turned out to be the Princess, learned of Cianha's story, she had compassion for her and took her in as a handmaiden.
Cianha is painfully shy, and still more than a little afraid of Maerwynn, but she is quietly, yet passionately dedicated to her Lady. The Royal Court is still a foreign and often frightening place for Cianha, but she is doing all she can to learn its rules of etiquette and fashion so that she can best serve the woman who showed her the first real kindness she's known.

Name: Malynas AstonAge: 54
Birthplace: Noreve (Arcavis)
Ancestry/Titles: Lord of Noreve, Knight of Noreve, Lord Aston, Sir Aston
Special Skills: has authority over all other knights
Appearance: "His was a sort of pinched face with a long, sharp nose made for looking down on others. His eyes were austere and clouded with darkness, hidden within a deep socket beneath his unforgiving and weathered brow; his thinning hair was a light gray atop his head. In height, he competed even with Sir Karryhs and was lankier than Lucas. He had a battle-worn and time-tested frame, but he still maintained some dignified composure that allowed him to appear as though he belonged in the seat next to the King."
Weapons, Special Items, etc.?: carries two swords at all times, occasionally trading them in for a fancier weapon on special occassions
