Kotaro
He beamed when the two agreed to come along. "It's a small car, but I think there's room enough in the trunk for a bike. C'mon, let's get out of here. It's depressing." Satoru had already begun to head down the hallway. They left the hospital, Hikaru's brother remaining more silent than usual; Kotaro thought he saw him reach for a weapon that wasn't there and wondered why. But he wanted to respect the distance Satoru was building. He didn't want to get in the way of whatever healing process he'd already begun. Instead he focused his conversation on Saki as he helped put her bike in the trunk and piled in the car.
"So, it's great that your brother is in town," he said as the engine fired up. He didn't want to admit how much he suspected the attack was something... unnatural. Especially around Satoru. The last thing he needed was to be thinking about hunting. He should be able to watch over his brother in peace-- and he shouldn't have to worry about new horrors jumping out of the dark to haunt them. But a hunter in the hospital was a smart move.
"Oh, by the way, guys," he said, pulling into a fast food drivethrough, "it's best not to mention this excursion to Aaron. I kinda excluded him."
He waited to eat until after they had returned to the school, but not long after. He'd skipped breakfast in favor of more sleep that morning and the smell of it was too inviting. He watched as Satoru ran off toward the Club with nothing more than a nod. "I'm worried about what he must be going through," he confessed to Saki once he was out of earshot. "And what he might do for revenge. I mean, I think we all suspect this wasn't just some kind of accident, right? There's something dark happening. But he's in no state to be hunting right now."

Naomi:
Naomi kicked herself once again for having forgotten her brown-bag lunch as she walked into the cafeteria. Willfully ignoring the double-takes and stares, she got into line and asked for a cheeseburger and fries in a red-and-white plaid card-paper carry out box, and a Styrofoam container of mixed vegetables. As she was moving through, a guy crashed into a girl, spilling their food all over the place and started a row that took the students' attention off of Naomi, to her somewhat guilty relief. As she finished getting her meal, Naomi headed for the door behind the pair.
"Anyways, do you think it could have been some of them, I know it's rare for them to attack randomly like that, but it has happened before.
"Yes Kanji, that's exactly what I think happened. I don't know why, and it worries me, but I'm pretty sure it was them. What else could make a girl disappear and leave no signs of her at all." She sighed, "I'm pretty sure we wont find Aoi again, I hope we do, but I'm almost certain that we wont."
"....wanna head to the club for the rest of the day?"
"It's almost like you read my mind. I absolutely hate it here, but I have to say, it's better than home." They headed for the door, "Do you think Satoru will be there? He seemed to be taking the whole thing really hard, but I don't think it would be right for me to visit them, I mean, I wasn't the nicest to Hikaru, he was cool and all, I just get this urge to punch something, well, almost all of the time."
"Like you would know, except for zombies I don't think you could hurt a fly."
OK. That was weird, Naomi thought. It sounds like they're talking about the Hikaru Tanaka case. But...zombies? She must be talking about video games. Keeping her distance from the pair, she followed them through the door. Wherever or whatever "the club" was, hopefully there was a nice, quiet tree somewhere far away from it where she could sit and have her lunch in peace.
Could they be behind the Tanaka attack? The recordings from her police scanner and what she'd been able to find out by calling people at the hospital made it sound like an attack by wild dogs, maybe wolves. Nothing about "shadows," living or otherwise. On the other hand, a lot of fairy lore said that they could change their shape or size* and appearance. If Jacques Vallee was to be believed, the UFO phenomenon, as well as a wide range of other paranormal activity including Celtic fairy lore, was all caused by the same beings adopting different appearances and trappings for different cultures.
What if it is them? Wild animals don't make a girl's body disappear without a trace. They'd eat what they needed and go, or maybe drag the body back to their den for their pups. Abduction is pretty common in fairy and UFO stories--or it could just be some psycho with a couple attack dogs. He sics them on the couple and snatches the girl...yeah, that sounds more likely. Do those two know something? Should I talk--oh hellllll, no! Even if this is something I could write up for Scream, it's wayyy too close to home. I can't afford to move again so soon! With a sigh, Naomi changed direction and started looking for a tree to sit under.
*OOC: This lore is not necessarily true for the Dark Fairies in the game.

Saki
"It's a small care, but I htink there's room enough in the trunk for a bike. C'mon, lets get out of here. Its depressing."
Saki nodded and followed him quickly, not sure weather to break the silence that hung like a fog between them. She grabbed the bike, a fairly rusted purple thing with a light and wicker basket, from where it stood locked to a bench and walked with the boys to Kotaro's car.
Wow. Saki thought to herself as they approached the shining corvette. She knew Kotaru came from money, but the contrast between the vehicle before her and the thrift-store bike in her hand's only highlighted this distance further and for a moment she felt embarrassed. Kotaru, however, didn't seem to know it and instead kept one eye trained on Sotaru while he fitted the bike into the trunk (no small feat). Saki too worried for her friend, but then his reaction was understandable. Her brother's had come home injured often enough for her to know what it felt to worry for someone else's safety, but this was different. The attack, if it was an attack, on Hikaru didn't make sense and if Saki had learned anything from her time hunting monsters it was that they rarely attacked without some sort of reason.
Saki slid into the backseat behind Sotoru and was lost in thought when Kotaro spoke to her. "
"So, it's great that your brother is in town..."
She took the bait, desperately wanting to break the silence. "Yea, he'd never admit it but I think he was looking for an excuse to come home." When Senseii was still in town, Tatsuya would make a point to come home every few weeks for 'training' and to keep an eye on Saki but his trips had stopped after Sensei had left. "It will be nice to have him in town..." For so many reasons. To have someone to visit with, to have somewhere to stay Thursday nights (her dad's 'poker nights' where the man, along with several of his friends, were likely to get particularly drunk), to have another experienced hunter on hand if whatever attacked Hikaru came back.
Kotaro pulled into a fast food place and the boys placed their orders. "Oh, by the way, guys, it's best not to mention this excursion to Aaron. I kinda excluded him." The smell of french fries and other fried delicacies filled the vehicle.
The rest of the trip was silent.
Sotaru bolted from the car as soon as they stopped, leaving Kotaro and her alone. "I'm worried about what he must be going through," Kotaro confessed to her, popping the trunk of the car. "And what he might do for revenge. I mean, I think we all suspect this wasn't just some kind of accident right?" He set the bike down and looked at her, suddenly she was aware that this was the first time they'd spoken 1x1 about anything other than hunting techniques or calculus homework. "There's something dark happening, but he's in no state to be hunting right now."
Saki nodded, "I haven't been to the site of the attack yet, but I want to check it out and see if there are any clues as to what attacked him..." She sighed, "... or why." She looked up at Kotaro, "I just feel like somehow this wasn't a random attack. Monster's don't attack people without a reason..." They were approaching the clubhouse now, an abandoned portable near the edge of the woods that had somehow been forgotten when the new edition of the school had been built. The area was typically empty, save for a small group of smokers who gathered around the nearby dumpsters, but with it being such a nice day several small groups had gathered to eat their lunches in the sunshine. Saki's eyes caught on one particular girl who sat nearest to the building under a tree alone and though the girl's face looked familiar Saki found that she couldn't place it. Maybe she's new. Saki turned back to Kotaro, "You don't think he'd try to go after them alone do you?"

Kanji
"Trust me, guilt is just as maddening Asami." Kanji says looking up at the ceiling before walking in the direction of the club. Not even looking back to see if she followed.
Kanji never really figured out why he hid the fact that he had Multiple Personalities. It wasn't as if he developed them because he hurt someone.....at times he wasn't sure it was guilt or shame that had fractured his identity. His grandfather and grandmother still loved him, but they where his family. The other hunter's where not his family, and would probably think him even more of a freak if they knew.
He was so lost in his thoughts he ran into someone, both of them falling down. He finally looked up to see that it had been Saki. "Saki...I'm so sorry." He says getting up really quickly and offering his hand.

Asami
As they talked Asami got the feeling that someone, or something was listening. As Kanji walked away not really aware of what he was doing and knocked over Saki she rolled her eyes and slowly turned to see who was around. There was only one girl that Asami didn't recognize, and she was the only one who was still looking for a place. It had to have been her. Asami looked at the girl, knowing she had seen her somewhere before, but she couldn't quite place it. She made a mental note to keep her eye on that girl, she wasn't sure who she was, but she knew something wasn't right, and Asami was almost positive she had been the one listening. As Kanji helped Saki up, Asami pushed by them, not really in the mood to talk to Saki. Sure, the girl was smart, and knew what she was doing, but her 'overly kindness' really bothered Asami. No hunter should be happy like that all the time, it wasn't right, or fair for that matter.Plus Saki was overly submissive, she did everything she was told, and did it right when she was told. She seemed to not want to upset anybody, and the poor girl didn't even know. In a way Asami almost felt sorry for her. She shrugged and continued toward the old portable. As she slipped into the club she saw Saturo and Kotaro already there. She nodded her head in acknowledgement of them and threw herself down on a chair that she had claimed as her own when they first started the club. "So, anything knew happen today?"

Kotaro
"You don't think he'd try to go after them alone do you?"
He frowned at the thought. "Under normal circumstances, no. But with it being an attack on Hikaru, your guess is as good as mine." He walked up to the door of the abandoned portable building that had become their sanctuary and turned the knob to go in. "I mean, I'm tempted to go after them myself and his relationship with his brother is much more meaningful than mine," he added before disappearing into the club. Inside, Satoru was sitting down, now showered and changed. Well at least this is more comfortable than that hospital room.
Before he could say anything, Asami walked in behind him, collapsing on her chair. "So, anything new happen today?"
"Nothing special, really," he answered, plucking a book off the shelf and sitting down at a desk to read a bit.

Saki
Kotoro seemed to consider the question thougtfully, "Under normal circumstances, no.
Saki sighed, everyone wanted revenge but for the moment all she wanted to was to understand. She leaned over to set her bag on the ground inside the doorway when suddenly she was knocked over, the bag slid across the floor papers, textbooks, and her laptop spreading over the floor. The world blurred slightley and Saki realized the glasses had been knocked from her face.
"Saki..." said Kanjii behind her. "I'm so sorry."
"Oh! No, it was probably my fault!" Saki said quickly, finding her glasses and quickly shoving her textbooks back into her bag. She smiled at the red-haired boy, "I can be a bit of a klutz some times..." She reached for Kanji's hand and allowed him to help her up, Asami passed by them with a scowl on her face.
"So, anything new happen today?" The blonde girl said to no one in particular, sinking into one of several old recliners in the classroom.
Satoru seemed tuned out of the conversation, laying on a back futon eyes fixed on the ceiling, so Kotaro answered, "Nothing special, really."
Saki glanced towards Satoru, wanting to bring up her suspicions about Hikaru's attack but unsure of his reaction, so instead she opened her laptop. "I've been looking at some research on ghosts and fay..." Saki offered up. She had been trying to figure out why some people seemed predisposed recognize monster's in their physical forms while others could pass a zombie on the street and not seem to recognize it at all.
"According to this Aizawa study, only a small fraction of the population are capable of actually identifying a dark fairy when one is held captive." Saki scrolled further down the page,"83% of those presented with the fairey reported only a feeling of fear and seeing a dark shadow. The remainder were able to describe physical features, wing shapes, height, profile with varying degrees of accuracy." She scrolled down further to a small picture of a woman holding a crystal box, the late Dr. Aizawa holding the captive fay. Saki scanned the picture carefully, she'd heard of fairies, phantoms and even ghosts being contained in specialized crystal containers before but it would have taken a skilled hunter to cage the creature in the first place. She wondered briefly how the Aizawa's had managed such a feat, or if they had hired another hunter. "Correct identification was significantly higher among children, the elderly, and those suffering some form of psychosis. It's hypothesized that ancient human's who ignored or didn't fully recognize the fay could have been at an evolutionary advantage but that psychotics and children..." Saki's voice trailed off as she looked at the picture again, her eyes drifted out the nearbye window where the gothic girl she'd seen earlier still sat under the tree eyeing the other students warily. "Has that girl always been a student here?"
OT: Logos if this is stepping on your plans at all, please let me know and I'll adjust. My thoughts here were just that, if Naomi's parent's were prominent paranormal scientists its possible that Saki would be aware of them. I won't have her 'call Naomi out' or anything.

Satoru
While the others went on in conversation Satoru suddenly startled up. "Phantoms!" He yelled as he stood up. "Asami. I saw a phantom at the hospital. You might wanna check it out. And I heard that there was a some tree's pretty scratched up around the hospital too. Something pretty Lycan-y. If you want we could head out together?" He blurted out. He knew that it was awkward and that Saki had just asked a question but he had just remembered.
He jumped up to the weapon closet and grabbed Check and Mate. He grabbed Asami's sword, put it in its case and tossed it to her. "If we go now we can probably make it to where I saw it before it flies off. We can sneak off into the woods right now, Nobody will see us." He went on as he got his equipment together.
"So... You up for it?"
(OT: Short... Oh so Short.... But, It will bring in action pretty fast and Logos, This a great time to have Naomi join in.)

Kotaro
He had been listening intently to Saki's information when she mentioned the girl out by the tree. Now that he thought about it, he hadn't noticed her before. Of course, he talked to a lot of people every day, and was busy with school and extracurricular and hunting... but someone who came to school each day, that walked the same halls as he did, that sat through the same boring classes... I would know her. And yet even though he couldn't remember her from school, there was a familiarity about her face that he just couldn't place.
But Satoru distracted him from the topic, rattling off about Phantoms and Lycans at the hospital. "You just got away from the place and you want to go back?" he asked, exasperated just at the thought. "Shouldn't you, y'know, rest for a minute? I mean, do you really think you're at your peak right now?"

Sakura
Sakura sat at her table alone, bored once the two arguers had left. She heard a bling and looked down at the screen of her phone. It was from Kip.
Did you talk to the brother yet? Kip asked about the boy who had been attacked, Hikaru.
Not yet. Sakura texted back. The newspapers had not only mentioned Hikaru, but his brother Satoru. While Kip was at the hospital impersonating a doctor, it was Sakura's job to talk to the brother, Satoru, to see if he had seen anything strange the night of the attack. Sakura shouldered her backpack and sauntered out of the cafeteria. She had no sooner exited it when an expensive car pulled into the parking lot, and out shot the very person she was suppose to be finding.
Well he's scrawnier than the photos from the newspaper let on. If there's any family resemblance, it's no wonder his brother got picked off...To Sakura's surprise Satoru ran not toward the school, but into the foliage. Shortly after, two other teens followed him. Annoying teenagers, making me follow them. Sakura huffed to herself. On the next job, Kip could impersonate a high-school student, and she would play doctor.
Sakura followed the three teens down a deserted part of the campus. In no time, she hit a dead end--some long-ago-forgotten temporary building, overwhelmed by trees and ivy. What the heck? Keeping her eyes on the prow, she approached the building, looking for where the teens had gone. Her feet made not a sound as she walked by the cracked exterior and dirt obscured windows of the building.
Suddenly, she saw movement in the corner of her eye. Instinct kicked in, and she hit the ground soundlessly, leaning her back against the outside of the building. Heart pounding, she prepared herself for any number of monsters when...
"Under normal circumstances, no. But with it being an attack on Hikaru, your guess is as good as mine." There was the sound of a door being opened. Attack on Hikaru? I might get all the information I need by just listening in on these pratts... The voices continued "I mean, I'm tempted to go after them myself and his relationship with his brother is much more meaningful than mine."
A new voice spoke, muffled this time, and Sakura realized it was coming from inside the building. "So, anything new happen today?"
"Nothing special, really."
"I've been looking at some research on ghosts and fay..." What was that? Sakura's ears pricked up even more. I could have sworn...
"According to this Aizawa study, only a small fraction of the population are capable of actually identifying a dark fairy when one is held captive." 83% of those presented with the fairey reported only a feeling of fear and seeing a dark shadow. The remainder were able to describe physical features, wing shapes, height, profile with varying degrees of accuracy."
There was a pause, then the same voice continued. "Correct identification was significantly higher among children, the elderly, and those suffering some form of psychosis. It's hypothesized that ancient human's who ignored or didn't fully recognize the fay could have been at an evolutionary advantage but that psychotics and children..." There was a beat, and a change in tone."Has that girl always been a student here?" Sakura tensed. Where they talking about her? But no, she must still be hidden from all eyes.
A loud voice suddenly exclaimed."Phantoms! Asami. I saw a phantom at the hospital. You might wanna check it out. And I heard that there was a some tree's pretty scratched up around the hospital too. Something pretty Lycan-y. If you want we could head out together?"
The sound Sakura heard next was one she knew well--weapons being handled. "If we go now we can probably make it to where I saw it before it flies off. We can sneak off into the woods right now, Nobody will see us."
"So... You up for it?"
Well I'll be... Sakura got out her phone and texted Kip: Hunters. The brother & friends. Headed your way. Maybe today wouldn't be as boring as she had thought...

Asami
Asami leaned back in her chair when Saki started talking intently about some study of other. Asami didn't care about what was studied about the creatures, she would much rather just get rid of the problem. When Saturo stood up and started yelling about Phantoms, Asami raised an eyebrow, slightly worried for Saturo's mental health, but in the same time wanting to check it out. When he grabbed his guns, and threw her, her sword she caught the box and a sly smile crossed her lips. She opened the case peering in at the beauty that lay before her. She stood up and pushed the box into her bag so they could make it passed all of the students without them wondering why she had a sword. "What are we waiting for? I say if there are monsters to be fought, lets get going!"

Naomi:Noticing the stares of the others, Naomi looked away. I'm not here half a day and it's already started, she thought with a sigh. One more school year, then it's over. Then the kids went into an abandoned building, which they'd apparently been given permission to use. Well isn't that just precious. Their own little treehouse. I wonder if they're the popular kids, or the geeks? Klutzy the Zombie Slayer... Geeks. Probably got themselves a D&D campaign running every day at lunch. Or something with zombies.Naomi felt a pang of envy. It had to be nice to be able to gather with friends and play for awhile in a fantasy world where the monsters weren't real, you got to be a High Elf or something, and your real self could just... not matter for awhile. She was a little over halfway through her cheeseburger when someone sneaked up to the clubhouse. Naomi's eyes narrowed as she watched her, for once unnoticed. The woman was clearly eavesdropping. She moved with practiced stealth and had tough, no-nonsense aura, like a cop or a soldier. Someone inside shouted "Phantoms!," but Naomi couldn't hear anything else. Then the woman was texting someone. A real cop wouldn't have to sneak around and eavesdrop like that. They could just pull the kids in and interrogate them, or do a wiretap and bug the clubhouse while the kids were in class. So who are they? It's got to be related to the Tanaka case. Could she be with the attacker? Helping him plan more attacks? Eliminate witnesses?Naomi lowered her eyes to her meal and breathed slowly, relaxing her muscles. If she tried to get up and move to a more hidden position, her movement would catch the woman's eye. Her best chance then of remaining unobserved was to remain faded into the background, and if the woman did spot her, look as if she had no idea anything was going on outside of her own little world. She reached into her backpack, retrieved Vallee's Passport to Magonia and pretended to read as she ate, lowering her head enough to let her hair sweep forward and partially hide her face as she kept track of the woman with hearing and peripheral vision. Suddenly, everything changed. The Tanaka case wasn't just some intriguing but unprovable (maybe-) paranormal incident. Those were a dime a dozen, not worth 'fouling her nest' by interviewing people she'd then have to deal with every day. No, this case was live, the danger still present. It seemed likely that the monsters in this case were human and that she was surreptitiously observing one of them. But, there was certainly enough weirdness in the case to feature it in Scream in the Dark. Female mass murderers were quite rare. Naomi would know; that rarity was a major reason for her fame as a modern day Molly Hatchet. At least as rare were serial killers who worked in teams. Throw in the use of attack dogs as a modus operandi... Could something else be going on here? I don't know...but I'd better find out.

Saki
Saki watched intently as Satoru shot up, listened to his ramblings thick with rage. He's completely lost it. She thought to herself, but she found herself turning instinctively to the floorboard beneath which her weapons store was stashed anyway. She looked over the weapons thoughtfully, several knives, two shot guns, three swords of various sizes and a large crossbow. If they were hunting phantoms, most of her weapons would be useless so she simply picked shotgun, a knife and one particular machete, this one lined to cut through ectoplasm. Phantoms, Ghosts and other non-bodied monster's were her weakness, but just because she wouldn't let herself be useless.
As an afterthought she took flip-phone and texted Tatsuya, We're heading back to the hospital, Sotaru think he saw a phantom there. Just giving you a heads up.
She stood and stuffed the weapons carefully into a bag designed to conceal them. "Then I guess its settled."
OT - So I know absolutley nothing about what weapons would be good to figh a phantom with (or anything about weapons really) will do some research before the next post. XD

Satoru
While Asami and Saki stood up and volunteered for the mission, Kotaro seemed taken off guard by it.
"Relax Kotaro. I'm a big boy. I can take care of myself." He said with a grin, he may have had a bit of sharpness in his voice however. He walked towards the back door and peered out of it before opening it all the way. He didn't see anyone but he knew he had to hurry.
"Alright. Lets go." He said as he opened the door and sped off to the brush as he had many a time before. He strapped on his holsters and tool off deep into the woods taking brief moments to look at his two companions. Asmai was strong and well built. She could take a hit a dish three more out. She would be a legendary hunter one day. Then there was Saki. While Satoru respects anyone that hunted monster, Saki just seemed, weak, to him. He trusted her and was kinda proud to see how much she had grown up as a hunter. Which was odd considering her older brother worked at the hospital and that he would be the main 'Parent' to her. But Satoru still felt responsible to keep Saki alive.
They kept their voices quiet as they didn't want to draw any unwanted attention. Be it Human or paranormal. When they got to the forested area right behind the Hospital, Satoru drew Check and Mate. He looked around the immediate area looking for signs of a phantom. Or Lycan. But nothing came. It was just, empty.
"Asami, I swear there was something here I know what I sa-" That smell. Drool, blood, and dirt. A Lycan was close. He heard rustling next him. It was now or never. He pulled his pistol and fired a silver bullet right were he heard the noise. The snarl that came out was undoubtedly a lycan. It charged out of the brush with blood dripping from its arm. Satoru could handle this alone. But when he saw the red hooded phantom come from his left, he knew that this was going to be a real fight.
Lithos
He burrowed to the battlefield under neath the feet of the three hunters. He rose to the ground from a small wild flower as a Lycan burst out of the bushes.
"Finally. The hunters numbers will dwindle." He grinned as the hunters started their fighting with the monsters. He shrunk back into the ground and burrowed off to the lake. There he saw two teenagers. A male and female. The two had stripped off their clothing and were flailing about in the water. Lithos could only contort his face to a smile. He could feel Hydros's presence rising from the deepest parts of the lake.
The two teens had no Idea what was in store for them.
(OT: So Hydros now can kill the two teens in any way she wants. Asami and Saki can jump in the fighting however they seem fit. And because I feel I should tell you guys because this will just get confusing... Satoru is being Mind-Controlled by Lithos. The "spell" will break soon enough and Satoru can explain his actions. But you guys can post again.)

Asami
Asami smelled the Lycan before she saw it, and knew something was wrong. She had seen the signs of the Phantom as soon as she got there, and Phantom's and Lycans together was not a good thing. As Soturo looked for the Lycan, Asami saw the Phantom and a slight joy came over her. She pulled her sword from the sheath at her hip and ran toward it not looking to see if the others were going to follow, or even cared. She swung the sword knowing that it wouldn't connect the first time, but it would upset the Phantom, and that's how she knew to fight them the best.
