God profileName: Toci
Age: Youngest of the Children of Kyros (About 500 give or take 50 years)
Home: Chalco, running around the forest
Appearance: Female, 4’6”, slender,
linkBio: Toci is the youngest of the Gods, born long after most of the others set up their countries and their people’s way of lives. She has never really feared Kaos because she saw the world fully built as it is now. She does not know the void that her brothers and sisters filled when they were first created.
You see, while most of the Gods were created out of Kyros’s desire to fill the world with things, places, ideals, Toci was born of a desire for Kyros’s children to get along. After hundreds of years of working hard to create the lands, cultures, and everything that went with them, Kyros’s children’s work lessened and they began to look towards each other’s lands. They compared, contrasted, and debated supremacy about their way of life. The arguments his children had would last for days and were beginning to threaten the peaceful way of life they had all created.
The only way Kyros could see as a solution to this was to create a new child. One who would have love and respect for all the people of the world and be able to solve her siblings disputes without it leading to war, and thus Toci was born.
She continued to live this way for a hundred years, touring the different lands, living with various siblings, until she realized how out of place she always felt wherever she went. She loved the people of course, but none of them truly felt like home. When Toci talked to Kyros about this, he told her that he would create a small island that she could call people from all the nations to come to and live at. It would be her island and she could lead the people however she wished. Toci was overjoyed at this proposal and she only asked one thing, that the island be covered with lots and lots of animals because she loved to play with them all. Kyros agreed.
Toci began to visit various families all across the nations. She invited them to her new island, urged them to come, and only gave them one rule. They were not to kill any of the beautiful animals on her island, not even for food, unless their lives were in danger, but only one family responded. Panyal of the Meians moved his entire extended family to the island. They were happy for a time.
Then, about 20 years after Panyal moved to Chalco, Toci found a Ravoni boat stranded in the ocean. She guided it to her beautiful island and told the sailors they were welcome to stay as long as they didn’t harm her animals. The Ravoni had intended to stay only as long as it would take them to fix their boat, but the fell in love with the island and their inhabitants and decided to stay.
Now, Toci runs around, wild on her island, playing with all the animals and advises the Council personally on important matters. She does still often travel to her sibling’s lands to see what is going on, and she still, of course, is available to mediate between her siblings when they begin to take offense at each other’s actions. Although, even with all of her wisdom on how to deal with her family members, Toci is often naive to the ways of the world and does not clearly understand the thread Kaos poses.
Saint ProfileName:Panyal, Saint of Nature
Age: 450
Home: Meia (See Tizoc’s bio)
Appearance: Can shape shift into various animals, but can no longer take a human form, so he is often seen as a bird, perching on the shoulder of Tizoc.
Bio: Panyal, as mentioned earlier was born in Meia. He came from the port town of Klilik. He had a decent life. He was married to his town, as was the custom, but he had one women that he loved over all else, and their five children, two girls and three boys. When he was 50, and his children were also married to the town and had taken lovers, he had a vision of a young goddess telling him the wonders of this new world he could explore. Panyal had always been an adventurous man, and he made his mind up to go see this new world. He convinced the village to allow him to take a boat, and told his family that they could stay behind, but all of them wished to follow him because they too had met the young Goddess Toci and they wished to follow him.
They all set out for this new land together. It was rough when they first got there, but, in those days, they worked closely with the Goddess to establish the village of Malinalco. Once the city was established and the family was secure, the Ravoni ship showed up. By this time, Panyal was a man of 70, but he welcomed the Ravoni as if they were his own and told his family to do the same. The Ravoni eventually settled there, and married into his own family. this pleased the old man, but he began to see problems forming. It was at this time that he established the Council naming his five children, who were all in there 40s to settle disputes and rule the families justly.
When it was nearing the end of Panyal’s life, Toci came to visit him. She was crying and talking about how she did not want her oldest friend and the first human to follow her to die and pass into the netherworld. Panyal replied that if there was a way for him to serve her forever, he would. This is when Toci remembered about Saints and changed Panyal into her own Saint. She gave him the ability to run around and play with her forever as all of her beautiful animals, but as a trade off, he could never take his human form again. Now, Panyal plays and works for Toci. He advises her in all matters and aids her in selecting who to raise to a council position when the time comes.Panyal is also the only Saint that Toci ever considered creating. She could make more if she wanted to, but she has never felt as strong a connection as with Panyal.
Human ProfileName: Tizoc
Age: 19
Home: Meia (See Tizoc’s bio)
Appearance:
link except with a
Mike Tyson tattoo on her face.
Occupation: Student
Bio: Tizoc was born a few minutes after her twin sister Tezoc. It was truly a miracle for the whole tribe to take joy in. Twins are a very rare, but very lucky blessing on Chalco. Besides her “other me,” as the Chalco refer to twins, Tizoc had a normal life. She did always seem to catch onto things a little slower than everyone else, or maybe it just seemed that way because her twin caught onto everything so quickly and with the smallest ease. No physical or academic matter was a strain for Tezoc, while it seemed to take hours of practice for Tizoc to master some of the basic combat moves or days of muttering repetition for her to memorize the most basic stories about her ancestors.
When, the twins turned ten, an elder from their tribe returned to the ground and all the children, including Tizoc and Tezoc were sent to the capital of Malinalco to decide who would be the next one to lead the groups. Everyone thought it would be Tezoc who got the position. In fact, she seemed to excel the most, even more than the older children. It surprised everyone when Tizoc was named the successor instead of her sister. In fact, for the first time in the history of the Council the tribe petition requiring them to explain why they took the lesser of the two sisters. The Council replied saying that they had consulted Toci and Toci had chosen the lesser sister without explaining to them.
Tezoc was enraged by the decision of denying her what was her’s by right. All the adults agreed she deserved it. It was only the foolish Council members falling back on some fake Goddess who refused to give her what she earned. Tezoc went to the Council member who had delivered the news. She demanded to know the reason she was passed over, and she would not take Toci’s edict as an excuse. The Council member had no answer for her, so the ten year old flew into a range and killed the Council member.
Seemingly stunned by what she had done, Tezoc ran back to her sister. She lied and said that a leopard had killed a Council member while she watched. She convinced Tizoc that the adults wouldn’t believe her when she made this claim and she needed Tizoc to pretend to be her, so she would have more time to prove her innocence. Tizoc agreed and was taken that night.
Three days later, a trial was held. Tizoc had not heard anything from her sister in all that time, and when the time came she gave the account her sister had given her to the remaining three Council members. They did not believe her and when questioned Tizoc got confused and was unable to answer what they were asking because she has never really seen the scene. The Council assumed this was because she was lying and could not keep her story straight in her head. They were about to pronounce a punishment of death upon her for what she had done to a family member when Tezoc spoke up and begged for mercy for her sister. She, still pretending to be Tizoc, spoke in such a way that it moved the Council and because this girl would one day be one of their members, they agreed to have mercy on her sister. Instead they banished the accused girl, marking her face with a tattoo so she could always wear her shame wherever she went.
Tizoc, because she had always been taught family was the most important thing, took her sister’s punishment without ever exposing her betrayal. She left the land on a ship, but before she left, she met a strange girl who was only a few years older than herself. The girl spoke kindness to her while everyone else condemned her for being a spawn of Kaos. The girl even gave her a present. It was a tropical bird to remind her of home. Little did she know this girl was Toci herself and the bird was the legendary Saint Panyal. Toci did not dare expose the girls because she believed that there was still good in Tezoc, the girl who committed the murders, heart and that she could, given time, turn her from her evil ways, and she knew that Tizoc had such a kind heart that she could be counted on no matter where they ended up.
On the long journey, Tizoc discovered Panyal’s secret because she would talk to the bird at night and one night the bird talked back. Panyal told her stories of his home country of Meia and guided her there. She landed in the port city of Klilik, but after a year of living there, Tizoc did not like it. Panyal guided her to the capital of Almei, where she has lived for 6 years. Her life as been comfortable so far, full of education and wonder at her new land, but her heart still aches for home and she bursts out in tears when anyone asks her about her unique facial decoration. She is also concerned that she is turning 20 soon. While Tizoc enjoys her life among the Meians, her heart still aches for home and she is not sure she wants to become married to the country as everyone else is and is not excited about taking a last name at all (people in Chalco do not take last names ever).
