EmilyEmily listened to Nathaniel as he told his story. So much had happened to him. As he talked his eyes would meet hers and send shivers down her spine. It was interesting to hear all of the things that Nathaniel had accomplished, but Emily was starting to regret coming. Something was definitely not right about Nathaniel Snow. When he finished he turned his ice blue eyes on her. "So you see it is not merely about 'making millions' but about grasping a knowledge that has been previously unobtainable. It is about understanding and so possessing this centuries own 'magic' so that it can be used against something more ancient... should the need arise... but I have been poor host.""How rude for me to talk so long. You sought me out. And I am truly curious as to why. I'm not one to believe in chance or coincidence." Emily smiled, "I honestly don't know why. I've been thinking about coming to see you for awhile now. You, of course, know of how the...Vampires around here have seemed to grow at an alarming rate." She paused collecting her thoughts, "I thought maybe you would know...if...someone was here. I knew him a long time ago." Emily stood, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come." RyanAs the two girls asked how Connie was and told him how glad they were he was alright, Ryan could find the right words. What could he say that would comfort him, there was nothing. This kid had gone through more pain than anyone Ryan had ever known. “Hey, Ryan. Have you seen Rainer come in at all? You know, the guy that always looks broody? He was with me when when I went to my house last night. He told me he was going to go look and see if anyone had seen anything suspicious last night but never came back… You think he whoever did this could’ve gotten him too? Ryan looked up at Connie, and was about to answer when suddenly felt a sharp pain in his head. He closed his eyes and grabbed the chair that Connie was sitting in to steady himself. The cafe slowly faded from his view and Ryan could see a mans face, one that he knew he had never seen before. Then as fast as it came it was gone. Ryan blinked down at the ground a couple of times before realizing he hadn't answered Connie. He stood up straighter letting go of Connie's chair. "I'm sorry, I haven't seem him. I'm sure he's fine, that guy can take care of himself. Don't worry about him, you just concentrate on you right now, make sure you're alright." Ryan walked back to the counter. "What does everyone want. It's on the house." As he set to making some special Coffee orders he tried to figure out where he had seen this man before. The face looked familiar, but Ryan remembered everyone he had ever met, and he hadn't met this man, he did look a lot like Connie though. OT: Ryan can't normally see small memories like this, but because of Connie's grandma's release of powers he can. I'm also thinking of bringing in Em's 'sire' that's who she's looking for.

Leia
Connie and Katie took up the cake offer, and Leia and Ava distributed the sweet comfort food. "I'm so glad you're alright, at least," Ava commented. "Hopefully they'll figure the whole mess out soon."
"Yes,"Leia agreed. "No matter what, you'll have us; we won't let you starve." She scraped a particularly large piece of cake onto Connie's plate. Leia felt her own stomach begging for some sustenance but this glutenous mass was not on her diet. She excused herself to retrieve her granola free yogurt from the employee fridge. On the way to the back the door opened and blew in some rain and another new comer bearing gluten in the form of chocolateiness.
"Hey guys!" The brownie bearing girl greeted.
"Oh, hey Saki." Leia de-burdened Saki, placed the brownies next to thew cake, then went to stand next to Ryan.
"Ummm...I brought brownies." Saki looked confused. Before Leia could pull her aside to fill her in, Connie spoke into the silence.
“Hey, Ryan. Have you seen Rainer come in at all? You know, the guy that always looks broody? He was with me when when I went to my house last night. He told me he was going to go look and see if anyone had seen anything suspicious last night but never came back… You think he whoever did this could’ve gotten him too?”
It happens so suddenly it was hardly noticeable, but Leia recognized it. She had been around Ryan so often and work and school that she had seen a few of his episodes that he classified as 'mini migraines'. Leia's reflex was to clench his wrist as he squinted and grabbed Connie's chair. Ryan was stressed and the last thing Leia wanted was to see him faint. But she didn't see him faint. Instead she saw...
...An unfamiliar face of a man that looked similar to Connie. Leia blinked and tottered as the cafe came back into view. What in the world? Ryan broke his grip on the chair and Leia quickly released his wrist.
"I'm sorry, I haven't seem him. I'm sure he's fine, that guy can take care of himself. Don't worry about him, you just concentrate on you right now, make sure you're alright." Ryan walked back to the counter. "What does everyone want. It's on the house."
"Yah, don't even worry about it, you guys." Leia said as she walked toward the counter to help. "Saki, want to help too?" Leia gave Saki a knowing glance and head movement that said 'get back here and I'll explain'. Honestly, Leia was trying to figure out what was going on with her own head but Saki deserved an explanation first.
OT: Leia's immunity to the supernatural also makes her sensitive towards it. That allowed her to occasionly piggy back off of others, like Ryan. Hope this is OK, Munster.

Nathaniel
Emily smiled, "I honestly don't know why. I've been thinking about coming to see you for awhile now. You, of course, know of how the...Vampires around here have seemed to grow at an alarming rate." She paused collecting her thoughts, "I thought maybe you would know...if...someone was here. I knew him a long time ago." Emily stood, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come."
"It's no trouble." Nathaniel said firmly, also rising from his seat. "But then I won't keep you if you have somewhere to be. Who specifically are you looking for?" He asked. Though Nathaniel rarely invited other vampires into his home he was aware of a handful that made their homes in the city from whom he obtained his victims. "As a rule, I don't freely associate with vampires but I try to keep tabs on who's coming and going."
Marcus
The owners of the little house had added a rooftop deck and this was where Marcus led Rick. It was a small space, with two wooden lawn chairs and several potted plants but pleasant enough save for the sun. The house was not particularly tall but the landing did provide a view of the street below as well as the one adjacent. Being a residential area, the street was mostly empty but a few passerby's could be seen. A young woman with two children in a jogging stroller. A middle aged man walking a black dog. And on the adjacent street, a man in a long black robe.
Marcus moved to see the man better, careful to stay in the shadow of the next house. "Look at this Rick." He said softly, motioning towards the man. "A cleric. Are we that close to a church?" Marcus watched the man with hawk like eyes. The hair on the back of his neck bristling in anticipation. "You know, even in life I hated church men. My brother was one, just as stuffy and pompous as the rest of them." His thoughts flicked briefly too Nathaniel. He hadn't even thought of the other vampire in years. Marcus had heard rumors of other souled vampires living in Seattle. Was it possible that Nat was among them?
Suddenly the robed man turned in the opposite direction. North. Away from the pocket of residential zone that Marcus was in and towards a cluster of warehouses and abandoned buildings. Marcus climbed over the deck railing and up onto the roof to get a better view, his eyes narrowing to follow the man. He spoke softly. "Look how he keeps to the shadows..." A memory came into Marcus's head, a battle he'd had long ago with a man of cloth. The man, who he'd learned later was a werewolf, had fought him with a relentless fury only to flee when Marcus had told him his name. "I think we should follow him."
Saki
Saki realized quickly that she had come in at a bad time. Everyone looked concerned and Connie... Connie looked absolutely distraught. Words were spoken in hushed tones.
"Saki, want to help?" Saki blinked. Leia, who had moved behind the counter, gave Saki a knowing glance and head movement that said 'get back here and I'll explain'.
Saki nodded, "Uhh... Yea sure." She moved back behind the bar, instinctively grabbing a green apron from a nearby hook. The manager wouldn't mind her being back here, but it was better to look like she belonged. Sort of. The two moved to the far side of the bar, away from the tense conversation happening in the store. "What's going on?" Saki said quietly, grateful that the store was mostly empty.

Turner
Turner watched in bewilderment as the Venator made his way to the nearest bathroom, changed clothes, and then hurried out the door, thanking the remaining vampires for their information. It seemed his first guest was gone just as suddenly as he had arrived. Still, if this Venator was leaving in such a rush after a conversation about Alise... it could only mean he suspected she really might be in the city-- right? A creeping feeling began to form in his mind, as though he were being watched by someone just on the other side of the wall. He knew, though, that only he and Rainer remained in the house.
He turned to his second guest, shrugging off the Venator's odd behavior. "As for Celia Wilkinson, I have many eyes in this area, whose duty it is to help me keep my secrecy, and to ward off those individuals I would prefer to never see again." He was again reminded of Alise; surely if she had made it to Seattle, he would have heard about it by now? Then again, he never wandered into the abandoned parts of town and never had reason to send any of his workers there. At least not the ones who would recognize signs of her. "I can only offer you my watchers. Should any of them return to me with information about Celia, I will immediately relay it to you."
OT: just thought it would be really cool to have a little network of 'watchers'. I think the majority of them are human, but some of them may be vamps or even wolfies. Dunno about that yet. I'm thinking I might have one of them come across Celia's corpse later.

Leia
Saki grabbed an apron. "What's going on?" She asked in hushed tones. Leia began steaming some milk loudly.
"It's Connie. Well his grandma, actaully. She went missing from her home last night. The police think it's an abduction. It was all over the news this morning. I'm surprised Connie came here--i'm glad he did though. We were freaking out about him. Especially..." Leia glanced at Ryan out of her peripheral vision. She raised her eyebrows at him, wanting to ask if he was OK too but he wouldn't want her to make a big deal about it. For now, the eyebrow raise would have to do.
"So yah. Don't feel pressured or anything," Leia told Saki, knowing Saki might feel awkward. "You just being here means a lot."

Rainer
Alise? Why do I know that name? I don’t think I ever met her… but the name sounds awfully familiar. He tried remembering, but he couldn’t come up with anything.
While the other two were conversing, Rainer just tried to seem like he knew what was going on. It wasn’t until Mason left to change that he had realized how quiet he had been. He looked at Turner with caution. It was odd, he didn’t know what he was thinking coming here, but as the time past he felt the situation become more and more of an emergency.
He broke his uncomfortable staring contest with the man when Mason came out of the washroom wearing robes. He still looked as ridiculous as he did with his “street” clothes, but he seemed more relaxed in his new garb. Which was confusing considering it looked rather “church-y”.
"Thank you for being so helpful Mr. Turner, and Rainer... come by St. Thomas Aquinas's sometime. Knock on the back door of the Rectory and you'll find me." Mason said as he left.
Turner said something about watching for news about Celia, but Rainer could only respond with a “Yeah, thanks.” before rudely leaving the large house to follow Mason.
“Mason.” He swiftly followed behind the man while keeping to the shadows. It was always one of Rainer’s gifts, to be stealthy. Between his father and Mason teaching him to hunt, he had become exceedingly proficient at it. The man was headed towards the factory district. Vampire HQ.

Turner
And now Turner was in the large house completely alone. The creeping feeling returned and he felt a strong desire to get outside the house and around other people; he was getting increasingly worried for Ava, anyway, and decided it would be best to go check on her. He went to his bedroom with a sort of caution he felt a little silly for adopting and pulled on a hooded jacket before heading out into the city. He had other modes of transportation, but it really was a nice day outside and he wanted to get some fresh air.
He pulled out his cell phone when he was under a shaded walkway and selected Zac Toft from his contacts. It rang only twice before he received an answer. "I need a favor," Turner said.
"Anything," Toft replied on the other end. There were sounds of phones ringing in the background and Turner knew he must be at work. But Toft was loyal and devoted-- the perfect man for the task at hand.
"I want you to find Celia Wilkinson."
There was a pause on Toft's end. And then, "Everyone in the city is looking for Wilkinson. The FBI is looking for--"
"I need you to find her first," Turner added curtly. "Check the old factories to the north. Or any dilapidated buildings in that area."
"Why're you interested anyway?"
Turner checked behind him, making sure he wouldn't be overheard. "Whoever kidnapped Celia, I don't think they were human. Which reminds me: an old friend of mine may be in town, so be extra careful while you're out." Another pause on the line. "I know I'm asking a lot--"
"Yeah, but you'll pay me triple, right?"
Turner grinned. "I knew I could count on you. Thanks. Let me know what you find." He hung up and tucked the phone back in his pocket. The Starbucks was only a few feet away now. Though the inside was relatively empty, there seemed to be a small, somber party starting up. Although he didn't look to be too much older than most of the group, he nonetheless felt like an old man as he entered through the door, pulling his hood down.
Ava was there, consoling a young boy-- some relation to Wilkinson, Turner guessed-- and everyone seemed to be safe. She was the first to notice him, a confused smile passing her lips as she looked up. "I didn't think you'd leave the house until later," she said, more as a question than a statement, as he took a few steps in.
He shrugged with both shoulders, his hands still in his pockets. "Our guests left and it was really quiet, so I thought I'd get out and enjoy the weather." It wasn't entirely a lie, but he didn't want to worry her, or any of the others, and he especially didn't want to be reminded of the conversation shared between he, Mason, and Rainer.
Katie was there, too; her attentions were also focused on the Wilkinson boy. With a dizzying realization, he understood the 'Connie' Katie was always talking about was in fact the 'Connie' mentioned in a rather silly scandal involving Celia Wilkinson-- somehow she had been required to take on legal guardianship of the boy, through some fault of his mother's. He couldn't remember most of the details; at the time, Wilkinson's political and social troubles seemed of little significance to him.
And in the corner, Saki, his now former receptionist, was helping behind the counter, speaking in hushed tones with one of the workers. He had hated losing her, but respected her decision to leave. Though it did bother him that he never found out who her new employer was.
"Do you guys mind if I join you?" He was itching to ask Celia's grandson a few questions, if he could find the right situation to do so.

Rick As Marcus led Rick to the little rooftop deck that laid on the top of the house, Rick couldn't help but look back. As they got outside he leaned over the edge of the wooden rail that encased the little balcony. He wa just glad to get some thinking room at this point. It had been a long time since anyone had that much affect on Rick and he wasn't quit sure what to make of it.
Rick didn't have long to sort through his thoughts before Marcus apparently spotted someone he recognized. "Look at this Rick." He half murmured, pointing down towards the street. "A cleric. Are we that close to a church?" Rick followed Marcus's gaze which was now piercing the figure below in the streets. "You know, even in life I hated church men. My brother was one, just as stuffy and pompous as the rest of them" he half murmured again. Rick was struggling to see what Marcus was seeing. When he looked at the figure down below he could only make out the shape of a moving blob. He certainly couldn't see why Marcus had such an interest in him.
"Look how he keeps to the shadows..." Marcus said as he began to climbed over the railing and onto the roof to get a better look. RIck shifted his gaze from the street to the roof, where Marcus was now sitting, perched as if read to pounce on his prey. "I think we should follow him." Marcus said as he turned to look at Rick and then back at the figure. "I don't see why we should," Rick let out. But Marcus had already begun moving and couldn't have heard him. Giving a small glimpse over his shoulder as if he could catch a glimpse of the girl, he then procede to follow Marcus in his pursuit of the mystery blob man.
