Toci Walking up to her older sister, Toci took Ara's hand in her's and said, "Ara, I know you're proud, strong, and have protected this world for many, many years, but Sor's people, they could be useful. If he stays here, he could help us. If we send him away, his people could be lost forever and we will face another battle, but with less friends and more enemies. I'm not asking you to trust him or work with him. I'm asking you to trust me, work with me, and tolerate him because I would like to work with him."
Toci gave her sister's hand a little squeeze with this last sentence and looked straight into her eyes. Her deep green eyes displayed the compassion and understanding she felt for her sister's pride and apprehension in this matter.

Matka
Matka couldn't help but smile as Toci worked her magic on their most difficult sibling. Between Nilo's sound reasoning and Toci's peace-winning compromise, Ara was hard-pressed to find any argument. The goddess of the North didn't speak for several moments as she processed everything. Turning to Sor, she said with a quiet but harsh voice, "Then you will stay for any usefulness you can provide. But remember that you're not one of us-- that you never will be. If you refer to any of us, it should be with the humility of a servant. And if you betray us, I will reserve the most unimaginable of ends for you and your so-called people." Then she turned to Matka with a heavy glare before returning to her seat.
Matka only bowed his head in concession. "Welcome to our family," he said to Sor with a hint of bitter sarcasm.

Sor
Sor stifled a growl, the neck on the hair on the back of his neck bristling. He wanted, desperately wanted, to offer retort. A quick word or sharp claw but part of him, the saner part, quieted.
Toci moved forward. "Ara, I know you're proud, strong, and have protected this world for many, many years, but Sor's people, they could be useful. If he stays here, he could help us. If we send him away, his people could be lost forever and we will face another battle, but with less friends and more enemies. I'm not asking you to trust him or work with him. I'm asking you to trust me, work with me, and tolerate him because I would like to work with him."
Turning to Sor, she said with a quiet but harsh voice, "Then you will stay for any usefulness you can provide. But remember that you're not one of us-- that you never will be. If you refer to any of us, it should be with the humility of a servant. And if you betray us, I will reserve the most unimaginable of ends for you and your so-called people."
Matka only bowed his head in concession. "Welcome to our family," he said to Sor with a hint of bitter sarcasm.
The great lion breathed deeply, centering himself. "If I must lower myself for the good of my people, then I will do it." He said, the faintest hint of a snarl still on his breath. "We cannot be divided in this undertaking. The stakes are too great. Our world, not just a people or race, hangs in the balance." Sor paused for a long moment, letting his eyes rest on each of his half-siblings. "Khaos grows stronger by the day and, as of yet, our people are powerless against him. Our people have never had the knowlege, or even ability, to take up arms against the gods but this is what they must do... I do not believe that this will be a war for immortals alone. In fact, I believe that the inclusion of mortal hearts will be absolutely necessary to our success."
